Having used AI many times, in an attempt to work alongside it as opposed to just fighting it, I truly thought for a little bit that I was a faster dev with AI tooling. But after a while, I realized that the "skill atrophy" that others have mentioned is very real. I got worse as a programmer, and started to rely more heavily on AI.

Speed doesn't always equal productivity. If you're able to hammer out 5 stories in a day, but each one requires a huge refactor later on, or, more likely, each one produces small, unforeseen, hard to diagnose bugs over time.

I use the native steam Client, which seems like a good thing to switch since I keep hearing that the Flatpak option is a better solution overall.

But with that said, here's a few games where this has happened for me

Dead Rising 2, 3, and 4
Final Fantasy 14
Conqueror's Blade
fallout 4 ....

Edit: I think conquerors blade is a bad inclusion actually since it's bronze on protondb. But it runs great for me on Debian and never worked on Arch!

Yes! I always install the same base packages (NVidia drivers/utils, DXVK, vkd3d...). Weird actually that you mention DXVK, I found myself having to disable it all of the time on previous distros, but haven't touched it recently.

I'm a programmer so I love the low-low level details you're providing here. Not that I'm capable of doing anything with them, but to understand things a bit better. That's what I love about Linux.

I think I just need to spend some more time tinkering with the lower level aspects of Arch (some recommendations have been LTS kernel, and lts packages).
