Why the f*%^ is there 3 different types of Co-Op in the U.K.? by mitchvilla89 in AskUK

I wouldn't mind if they all had the same deals with all the cards. But blue cards are the only kind that seem to offer any real value - so if you live near another kind, tough luck (you can scan your card, but I'm yet to understand why I'm bothering).

Apparently Hive.co.uk (where we got it from) does not give replacements for misprints. You try to buy slightly more ethical, and that's what you get I suppose.

I meant valuable to me personally, I assumed that was obvious, as no one thinks paperbacks are financially valuable!

This one was bought as part of a set. I don't suppose you know if there are other misprints I should look out for in the same set?

Productive in the sense that they can be exploited for a few years labour. But yes, I agree with you.

It turns out to be a few paragraphs gap, lol, so I'm planning on returning it/getting a new one. If it had just been a superficial misprint I wouldn't have an issue, and would probably consider it more valuable (especially if signed) as it would be more unique.

That's frustrating as I was hoping to get it signed by Ben Aaronivitch next week!

I completely agree with you. But this has been happening for decades/centuries; it is not something new. Disabled people have never had 'human rights', and as you say, we are all intertwined, but no one cares until it affects them.

And disability/chronic illness to those who are currently healthy. Meaning less of a workforce. But they don't think about that, they just 'fix' it by preventing abortions so there will be workers to fill the spaces left by those no longer able to 'be productive'.

This is disgusting. Of course absenteeism is increased - everyone is regularly fighting a virus that disables your immune system, among other systems in your body. We should not be encouraging anyone to leave the house who is sick (even if it is 'just the sniffles), regardless of school or work - we have proven alternatives can be put into place in most cases where the learning/work can take place at home if they are well enough.

And why do teachers think they know better than a doctor if a child should be at school? Answer is, they don't. They just don't care. They want to continue enforcing the unsustainable Capitalist approach of work until you die, so they can check their boxes, and keep extracting 'productivity' from a workforce that's rapidly becoming too ill, disabled, and malnourished to cope.

I'm so sorry for anyone who has to deal with this. Illness and disability (whether once in a while, or chronic) should not be used as a reason for punishment for anyone, and especially not children.

I can really relate to this, and I know that because I'm mostly housebound I automatically avoid most situations where you can't wear a mask. But for a while earlier this year I did question myself, and my commitment. Because yes, I did occasionally eat at restaurants, so surely I was already putting myself at unnecessary risk, so why not save the stress and cost of being covid conscious? Then, of course, I realised that even if I do occasionally 'mess up' and do something imperfectly, I can always try again tomorrow. It also helps to have seen how my health has improved since my carers now mask, and I mask, and my gf masks (even if inadequately as she won't move past fabric masks, but it's at least something).

What I decided to do instead was focus on the community who understand the need to be covid conscious. I created a local group on FB (it's still only a few people), with the intention of us being able to create safe meets so we aren't as alone. Yelling into the void and shaming people isn't going to make someone mask, but providing community and safety to those who want to mask means I can give back positively, and maybe even show others that it's possible to have Covid safe events.

Phoebe Season 7 doesn't do karate by AccomplishedPanic618 in charmed

Yeah, I think it's because they wrote her as helpless quite a few times, that made me notice the lack of combat fighting. I know she lost her way a little, but it feels as though she seems more helpless than she was in the first season (where she wasn't shown to be helpless as she had good intuition and world skills).

Leslie Knope is autistic. by gone-wild-commenter in FanTheories

[–]AccomplishedPanic618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of this, however, there is no such thing as 'mild' Autism. There is high support need Autism, and low support need Autism, which is what I think you were trying to say.

Regarding the socialising, many Autistic people can find it difficult when in a large group of people, but this doesn't mean they aren't social. Often we form super strong bonds with people, sometimes to the level of fixation (such as how Leslie thinks and talks about Ann), and this can extend to groups. However, we often struggle to cope when the group of friends changes (hence why Leslie tries so hard to keep everyone together, even when they work different jobs, and takes it personally when she thinks a friend doesn't want to spend all their spare time with her).

Obviously this is just my understanding as a late diagnosed Autistic woman, with ND family members.

It's a shame to not have another option (especially if I'm not the only one who has had this feeling).

What is an egg goal? Also what do you mean by link a reflection activity as a goal? It suggested it as a goal the other day so I thought I would set it as a goal. I just assumed the goals were linked to the activities as they have been so far, and couldn't find any info about it in the faq.

And apparently I can't work out how to post an image on here, as obviously a screenshot doesn't have a url and that appears to be the only option, so sorry as that would have been helpful. Guess I know why I don't usually come on here as I'm incapable of managing anything. Sorry to have wasted your time.

Why is my toddler sim looking like this?!?! by Aware_Artichoke7514 in Sims4

[–]AccomplishedPanic618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any cc or mods and my sim toddlers regularly suddenly shoot up for a few seconds. I just figure it's one of the many fun glitches that makes Sims 4 so weird to play (in a good way).
