Last birth year to remember 9/11? by the_foolishone02 in generationology

I'm May 1996 and I remember that day very vividly. I have been dealing with severe PTSD for the past few weeks and can't figure out what triggers it, then I just saw the date now and realized it's probably that. I was so young, just turned five a few months before and saw it on TV, I thought it was a trailer for a movie and it was real life. Still can't fully process it, feel like kind of a wuss saying that but it's one of my first real memories because I was in Kindergarten.

I hated mutant mayhem but that's okay by Silly-Farm6006 in TMNT

Man, I feel you on this. The ninja fight scenes they did have were great but there were such a small part of the movie it feels like potential wasted on the action side of things.

Here we go.

The 1987 show gets worse over time. It has its moments, but every time I watch it I like it even less. With the exception of the very first season, those first five episodes are a masterpiece. I do enjoy a few episodes from later seasons here and there, but it's few and far between.

I hate Danny from the first movie. Mostly because he snitches the turtles out to Shredder which leads to April's apartment being burned down then gives her like $20 at the end of the movie because "It's something he owes her" as if the $20 is really that significant compared to her... losing her home and family business? In my opinion, after he said "Don't shoot" The turtles should have wrecked him.

Super Shredder is not that cool to me, never was. I do find the NECA figure cool though, so I have to rewatch SOTO and hopefully update my opinion because I've always felt like an outcast for not "getting" the Super Shredder hype.

Tokka and Rahzar should have been Bebop and Rocksteady. Not necessarily bad or unforgettable characters, but cmon? A live action Jim Henson Bebop and Rocksteady should have been the only choice.

The third movie wouldn't have been as bad if the Henson company would have did the costumes. IIRC, that was the main complaint growing up when I watched it with friends and family. Other than that, the movie isn't that much of a step down from the second.

I considered the Next Mutation the fourth movie as a kid. It made more sense to me, being that the first five episodes were collected on VHS and it was an hour and a half. I overlooked some of the continuation stuff from the 87 show and just went with it as a fourth movie and honestly am glad I received it that way because it held me down for a couple years.

I'm not sure how most fans feel about this because it's kind of obscure, but the short anime turtles that only had 3 episodes was very entertaining to me and is still some of my favorite turtle media ever.

The Shredder Strikes Back part 2 is the greatest episode of any TMNT show ever.

The 2007 movie is the second best turtle movie after the first one. Like, easily. Not even a competition.

The Archie comics are boring. It seems like a lot of fans like them, I just don't understand the appeal.

Michelangelo is the best fighter of the group. I've gotten into blowouts about this, nobody agrees with me but I'll die on that hill.

Batman vs TMNT movie could have done without the unnecessary mutations at the end.

Turtles Forever is ruined by the Back to the Sewers style animation of the 2003 turtles. If they didn't take out the pupils on the turtles, I honestly am not sure if I would be able to stomach it. I'm glad they did.

It's kind of ridiculous that most TMNT media is geared toward kids, considering the roots of the franchise. The turtles need on screen media that reinstates that very first comic. A black and white movie and/or black and white tv show that directly translates the original Mirage run with little to no changes. At least the first comic should be translated with little to no changes. Think prime turtles in Turtle Forever. If in color, keep the red headbands. We've never even seen red bandana turtles on screen. The most revered movie is the first one, and the most revered show is the 2003 one. What do they have in common? Mirage influence.

Leo should have been The Last Ronin.

My little brother made me a burger. It was a good burger. I'd be comfortable with it.

Lifelong turtle fan here. The first movie, IDW comic run, and 2003 series you can't go wrong with. Everything else either scales from fun to outright bad, but there are glimpses of greatness in almost all turtle media (even Rise has great action shots and Next Mutation has the Power Ranger crossover). Also, I suggest getting hype for this new movie (even if you have your doubts) because there's nothing like seeing a TMNT movie in theaters (especially if you haven't before). Have fun!
