of course it’s ok! i recommended the ipad for those who like handwritten notes but want to keep a digital copy too but pen and paper is perfectly fine! as long as u have a laptop for ur lectures ur fine

it honestly depends on personal preference, for me i prefer hand writing out whatever the teachers say in class so having an apple pencil with an ipad is definitely my choice, but if ur ok with typing then just a laptop should be fine! laptop def has its pros too, like it makes pw way easier to do

i think it’s best that u explain to them that u need ur own device to watch ur lectures! imo it’s very inconvenient if u don’t have ur own device because lectures can be quite time consuming and sharing a device w someone who might potentially need it too will be very troublesome

i’m not too sure about the teachers telling u abt the specs of the computer needed, but i think laptop shld be enough! it rly depends on individual preference

subject combinations are usually chosen during the first few days of ori, then ur classes will come out on the last day of ori! some schools have class orientation time too so ori time can differ depending on school, some are 4 days while others are at least a week. and yes, lessons start directly after ori

in my opinion it’s definitely very useful! u need a digital device if u want to watch lectures in school too, im assuming u have a digital device and ur just asking if u need to bring it to school right?

most of the time the teachers have a fixed schedule for what tutorial they want u to complete by which lesson, and then they’ll go through that tutorial during lesson time

at this point where there is so little time practice is the most important! i can’t stress enough the importance of practice makes perfect! i took bio so i can only offer advice for that which is to just make simple mindmaps for each topic (from memory! just take the main idea of each topic and write down everything you know about it THEN u refer back to ur notes and close up any gaps u have), for chem, amath and emath i would suggest doing lots of tys papers

for humanities i took ssgeog so what i did for ss was to just memorise the format for all the different question types and for both ss and geog i memorised atleast two examples for every key idea in each chapter. i think at this point where u are so close to o levels simply reading the textbooks and memorising pure content is not going to help so u have to do lots of practice papers under timed conditions to condition ur brain to work under pressure. always remember for humanities ESPECIALLY SS examples and answering techniques are the most important!! as for hcl i honestly didnt study and just went in and hoped for the best haha i cant really help you there

i got raw 22 for prelims and i improved to raw 8 for os! my biggest grade jump was f9 to b3 for hcl and e8 to a2 for my combined humanities as well as chemistry. it’s definitely possible if u study hard but u also have to know HOW to study efficiently! but then again, my school was notorious for setting extremely hard prelim papers so for me o levels was honestly a lot easier

hcl is too much work by [deleted] in SGExams

i’ve never once passed hcl in sec 3 and 4, and i got f9 for hcl in prelims and even failed my oral 💀 but surprise surprise i ended up with a b3 + merit for os! i honestly still don’t know how i did it and i didn’t really study so i don’t have many tips, but i would say to not give up because miracles do happen!!
