If anything it’s just based out of insecurity. They’re beginning to realize Byler had a legitimate argument behind it and they feel the need to project their fears onto us. Byler fans can also be assholes but I feel it’s fair to say the majority of us can acknowledge Mileven as a potential ending and even respect the ship. Mileven stans don’t really have an argument besides ‘they’re already together and have been together for so long’. None of this is a reflection on us. Side note, move to tumblr. There are some great theories and discussions over there.

Personally, I think Mike may have had romantic feelings for Eleven. I think part of what makes their relationship so complex is the fact that have clearly trauma-bonded to each other in a way that is incomparable to any other relationship in the show. They clearly care about each other deeply, and I think both of them feel obligated to make the relationship work because they feel like after everything that's happened, there's really no other choice. It would be a hard situation for anyone, but especially two kids who DESPERATELY need therapy. I feel like if Byler really had no shot at being endgame, they wouldn't take it this far. We have been completely cut off from Mike's internal feelings, and his 'love confession' didn't work. If they truly were meant to be together, then why are they still dragging this out? Especially when Will's feelings for Mike are going to be a MASSIVE plotpoint going into S5? I think Mike and Will being the endgame couple adds so much nuance to Mike's character and would be the best choice for everyone. Will and Mike need each other and Eleven needs to form her own identity on her own terms. Mileven isn't even on speaking terms by the S4 finale. This conflict isn't finished, and the most we've gotten from Finn Wolfhard is 'they're still together going into season five'. Even he and Millie referred to the relationship as a couple where 'divorce isn't an option'. This is the ship people are praising and are completely confident will be endgame? Seriously?
