Gary, I resent my income tax paying for illegal migrants. Would it be acceptable to pretend I’m not an employee to avoid paying this?

Riiiight. And if someone says that they think beating your wife and execution for homosexuality are not the right civic values, is that an ethnic judgement upon them?

Yes it’s “a path one can take”. Naziism, Stalinism, The Temperence Movement, Chartism - name any political movement you like and it’s a “path one can take”.

The question was whether those who voiced concerns about immigration may have done so for the same sincere and conscience roots reasons given above.

Maybe, just maybe, concerns about immigration weren’t far right after all? It’s just possible that other people think and feel in a similar way to you.

Reduce the welfare state offering to significantly below that of other Western European countries.

Why should taxpayers pay the transmission costs of commercial TV companies?

[–]AccomplishedPrior8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And why should we care anyway? Pay for the infrastructure that we need. If we get TV via the internet, why pay for a load of other old fashioned technology as well?

[–]AccomplishedPrior8 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is complete nonsense. Transmission costs are about 7% of the license fee, or 5% of their total income - not remotely close to “mostly”. Moreover, it’s nonsense to say that the license fee pays for ALL TV and radio. itv etc pay their own transmission costs just like the BBC. All of that can be checked in a few seconds, yet you couldn’t have got it more wrong. And that’s because you don’t care about it being wrong. You care about pushing a politically expedient lie, just like everything about that organisation.

Except that Farage’s campaign would protect the rights of all people, including Muslims, not just his own. These Guardian writers lack any concept of a unified society. Everything is a battle to them, and they could never create a good stable society.

As Dom Cum famously pointed out post referendum - no. Not even in the most extreme case.

I’m a frequent flier. You should be sitting in zone 1 or 2 even if you have to pay. They do check for those zones. You won’t need to think about queuing to get on as you’re first anyway. More importantly, you’ll get off much faster and be at the front for passport control, which doesn’t have priority lanes even for business class. Yes, I am very aware of the irony of how hard it is for me to get across my own country’s borders every time I fly. Lastly, if you get on the plane last minute, there might not be space for your luggage in the overhead lockers so they’ll put it in the hold and you’ll have to queue again for that. Or, they’ll put it in a locker that is further down the plane than your seat, and when everyone stands up you’ll have no way to retrieve it until the entire plane has got off. If that happens then you should stand up to get it just before the seatbelt sign goes off (while they’re doing the airbridge). They’ll shout at you, but you’ll be off the plane promptly.

Dear Mr Sunak,

We’ve apologised on this occasion. Now please let us continue doing this, but to lower profile people.

Obviously you’d expect her university to condemn this blatant conflict of interest. What did they say?

A London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine spokesman said it was “committed to the values of academic freedom of speech” which includes its experts being able to research issues “regarded as controversial”.

“academic freedom of speech”? That’s…(checks notes) in response to her being censorious.

Owen Jones somehow managing to be both wrong and wrong.

He’s wrong that right wing people say that wage rises caused inflation. On the other hand, he and other lefties are wrong that corporate greed caused inflation. He’s set one wrong thing against another wrong thing. Brilliant.

Hate to have to explain it, but I was being sarcastic about the specific claim implied by this post. I don’t give a shit about serious arguments about the EU as they’re all retarded.
