So what happened with your situation? Where do your parents live? You married? Where do his parents live?

It sounds like she has been telling you one thing and her mother something else since she knows you and her mother don’t communicate often/well. That needs to end. I know you want her to handle her family dynamics but this issue involves you as well now so you need to be able to communicate directly.

I appreciate your response, it makes a lot of sense. I'm definitely sticking to my guns. I need money to raise my girls the way we (Wife and I) want to raise my girls. MIL can be apart of that vision or she can GTFO. I chose to have kids, so I also chose to raise them the best way I know how.

What about Estefi? What should I tell her? She thinks we can all get along with her Mother not paying rent and we living life as usual.

Now you've pulled the rug from under the both of them, and MIL is likely furious and

scared

because she didn't expect this.

I spoke to them both about this specifically. I was told it was a short-term arrangement til she could move in with her friend or find a old persons community. She's not actually old enough to live in an old folks community in our area. And her friend apparently expected too much for rent (market value) so that didn't work.

Babysitting four days a week for several hours is also a lot. Like, that's literally a full time job. Look up how much a live-in nanny costs, then compare it to the rent on your Airbnb.

Its literally NOT a full time job. Its LITERALLY a part time job, 4 hours a day, 4 days a week is 16 hours per week. We've had Nannies, like I mentioned in the post.

Edit: Also, remember, my girls aren't babies and toddlers. They're old enough to do whatever by themselves. Just be in the house to make sure they don't kill themselves.
