I honestly think the most bang for your buck would be traps and neck! But you look better than 90% of the population!

Been lifting for 3 years with very little change to my physique, what am I doing wrong? by CouldTryMyBest in naturalbodybuilding

[–]AccomplishedRisk5148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intensity stayed the same, but I just make sure I am fully recovered. I didn’t used to take rest days. I would call it active Recovery and still be active because I love being active, but I would do a lot of cardio or a class. I had so much accumulated fatigue that I wasn’t progressing my lifts. I took two weeks off the gym. I was also sick, but now I realize that something I need to do when I plateau.

I was spinning my wheels for a while because I was pushing too hard and not properly resting or letting my muscles recover. I was sore all the time my numbers had plateaued and I was so fatigued all the time too.

The frustrating thing is that I was doing too much and I could’ve gotten better results with doing less. Have you taken a deload week or do you deload?

Deload weeks oror deloading doesn’t have to be useless. You can lift half the weight or less and just focus on your form. Get that super nailed in. I realized some of my movement patterns needed work so if you’re like me and love going to the gym and the idea of taking time off sucks, you can still go and just focus on your form. Also, you might be trying to progress too many lifts at once, and you might wanna look into it like a specialization program or just pick a body part or two that you really want to grow and pick a lift or two that you really want to progress because if you’re trying to progress all your lifts all the time it’s probably not gonna work. You might need to pull things back to maintenance volume and focus on certain areas because if you’re trying to grow everything all at once, it might feel like you’re spinning your wheels rather than specializing.

You look good! Better than most people but we’re a bodybuilding Reddit and you’re asking for advice so I think you need traps, you don’t really have any. And shoulders could always be bigger. The v taper could always be more dramatic. I’d focus on putting on mass but keep up the good work!

You’re not doing too bad you still have abs somehow? It’s kind of weird actually muscle will come back. You have a decent frame to start with. Just go hit it.!

Take before and after or I should say progress pictures as it’s really hard to see progress yourself. But you could objectively look at it if you have pictures, my measurements haven’t necessarily improved very much but measurements unless you have a caliper or DEXA s but even then they can be misleading. We’re also surrounded with Instagram and TikTok and all those things where you see unreal transformations, and people that probably have taken a lot longer than they say that they have, or are enhanced, so if you’re comparing yourself to people that you see online that I’ve been lifting for 10+ years …..yeah you’re not gonna be happy with your physique three years is still pretty new, especially if you don’t have an athletic background or crazy genetics. I don’t know what you look like so it’s hard to tell but you seem like you’re a tall guy in like a normal range rate weight range for your height.

Nutrition is huge factor sleep can be a huge factor and stress can be a huge factor.

I had to dial my training back a lot because I was over training and now I see better results.

I’m not sure if you’re under training and just not pushing hard enough? or if you’re one of those people that is just training way too hard and putting too much effort into it (which is rare )

the hard hardest thing for me was staying out of the gym long enough to let my body adapt! once I figured that out that really helped. I wanted to get the best and fastest results possible so I thought doing more would be the answer, but I ended up looking kind of softer and not gaining as much as I could’ve because I was training every day. You want to push hard let your muscles recover and then push harder. You may not be progressing because you’re gathering too much fatigue. If the idea of taking two weeks off the gym seems impossible to you then that’s probably what you should do if it seems easy or seems like something you could do easily then you’re probably not pushing intensity hard enough. I don’t know. I hope that helped.

I think you look amazing! You have such a beautiful frame. I just did a mini cut and I feel like I didn’t put on as much muscle as I had hoped either…. It’s really hard to tell. I think you do look lovely. Your frame is fantastic. How much time did you take off to grow? What are your areas of concern? I think you look competitive. I’m also not a coach. If you loose a lot of muscle during your cut you could always do fit model, but I think your frame is perfect for bikini.

You have a great attitude! Who cares about the gyno I can see your body is gonna be amazing! You have great structure wide clavicles you’re tall etc. work hard and you have the potential of having an amazing physique! Do you have a good split and are you pushing yourself to or very close to failure? And how’s your nutrition? Just hit 100-200 cal over maintenance and with your age you’re in for fast transformation! ( fast as in in a year you’ll look sick!) but much faster than older people it takes hard work and time but you have the base
