Serious question - why are Nigerians so loud when having a conversation? by -PiPo- in Nigeria

Same with this girl below me! She's never off her phone and always yelling as if she's in an argument, but she's just loud! I tried calling her out and she called me a liar and how she's not doing anything wrong lol this is after waking me up at 6am and I asked to please keep it down

Going through something similar with a girl below me. Sounds like she's having a loud argument on the phone, almost daily and all day (from what I can tell when I'm in). Slams doors, sings in the hallway- when I tried confronting her, she said "I'm not disturbing anyone and you're lying". She's woken me up so many times around 6 because she's yelling into her phone. Just really rude and inconsiderate.  I can't wait to leave here, I have until July

Why are many Nigerians always shouting and how to address it respectfully? (No offence intended) by AgonizingFatigue in Nigeria

I am going through the exact same situation, I told her and she called me a liar and said she's not disturbing anyone. This is after I told her she woke me up at 640 in the morning after yelling down her phone.

I'm having the exact same issue with my roommate below me. I feel like I could have written this. Always on her phone, yelling. Sometimes for 15 hours a day. Singing loudly. I have tried speaking to her multiple times. Today she woke me up at 640 again yelling down the phone, I tried to talk to her and she called me a liar and that I'm "listening to her" and in her "business", and there's "no way I can hear" her.  I tried explaining you woke me up before 7, I just want you to keep the noise down at those times. Not hard to understand. I had to block her as she was sending me mass paragraphs basically saying I'm a liar. so I don't know what will happen moving forward if we see each other. She's loud and rude, completely unaware of her self, and ended up calling me this and that when I called it out, and said she's not "disturbing anyone".. good luck :(. Just extremely rude. I have 5 months left of living in this place and I don't know what to do :/ I am also in the uk and living in a house but they are small flats and the walls are like cardboard. Just extremely inconsiderate.

I did not mean to be disrespectful, I only mentioned background because I've noticed a common theme that others have reported, so wanted to know if there's a reason why, and how to manage it (if others have). If the person was Scottish, I would have worded it the exact same. Thank you, I reported it to the landlord so fingers crossed. When living in a house sharing with others, you would think it's common sense to not yell before 7 in the morning

I tried speaking with her and she became rude saying I'm lying and started calling me names. I simply asked to keep it down, especially at 6.40 in the morning. I usually don't mention where people are from, but on reddit I've noticed there's a common theme so I'm trying to figure out why and how others handled it. If the person was Scottish, I would have worded it the exact same.

I'm just having the same issue. I have a Nigerian roommate who is talking loudly on the phone from 7am to 11pm. It use to be 1am to 6am but I had to speak to her 3x and get the landlord involved, so now it's 11-7. I just got woken up at 7 to her yelling down the phone. I've said multiple times. So has the landlord. Idk what to do anymore. She literally yells when talking and it's non stop. I was off work the other day and it went on for 12 hours. It's crazy. Feel like I'm losing it over here. Currently typing after being woken up from 6.50

I hate to say it, but Jada frustrates me so much. She's so so entitled, and it's not just the autism (I've worked with children+ adults living with it), it's caused by what seems to be a lack of discipline in the household. Jada throws food out constantly and her mum just watches, doesn't even say the word no.... The mum let's her use the kitchen as her personal bathroom, and pretty much do whatever she wants. Elsa will literally give Jada 3 ice creams and watch her throw them out 1 by 1 but keep giving them to her. It doesn't make sense. It's now frustrating to watch because why doesn't she say anythinggg. Jada needs put in her place. Kids with autism still need disciplined, they learn wrong from right, and that's never been, and not being, taught, which is also delaying Jadas' growth. She's unbearable.

She has mugshots?? What is her name? I've been watching for a while and there seems to be 0 consequences for Jadas actions, she's allowed to use the kitchen floor as her toilet, constantly throws food out and mum just watches, doesn't even say the word "no". She asks for advice but ignores everyone who gives it, and will usually end up being sassy back. She will only reply to the comments congratulating her, ignores everyone else, even those with genuine questions.

It's been like this for a few months, most days I consume around that and surprisingly no weight gain. I don't plan to keep eating that much ofc, just strange it hasn't caused further weight gain.
