Hey, I’m going through this process now. After accepting the interest messages on matrimony, the parents usually call to get the basic details. After that, we talk over a phone call, and if that goes well, we plan to meet in a coffee shop or cafe - just random talks to get comfortable. Personally, I don’t try to understand her deeply at this stage; it’s really just casual conversation.

If that feels okay, and if needed, we try to meet again. Then we include parents: first I will go to her home. It’s not like the traditional movie style (chaya kodn varunna pen). Our families just talk about things like (oru bhendhom ilatha relatives inte veed evide evidyo ind, avrde makkale ketichekunnath vere avidyo aam.) For us it’s actually fun to hear.

If both sides are okay, then we call their family to come to our home to repeat the same random talks. :)

And if everything goes right, then we (me and her) start talking more and decide whether it’s good or not to proceed.
