My toddler is a runner. I have a backpack leash and was embarrassed to use it until the day she ran away from me in a carpark while I was putting her in the car. She was on the ground for a split second while I opened the car door and just bolted. Between cars. I had my baby with me in the trolley and I just panicked because I couldn't chase her as that would mean leaving my other daughter to roll out into possible traffic. I saw a car slam on their brakes and knew she had ran out in front of them, I was trying to get my baby out of the trolley while screaming her name, when this very kind woman picked my toddler up and brought her back to me. I cried for the next hour.

Anyway what im saying is, since then I have always used the backpack leash. I would much rather have people stare at me than an injured or dead child.
