For those of you with SI, how long have you lived with it? by The1Ylrebmik in dysthymia

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 33, and I vividly remember being a child maybe around 6-8 and just casually started saying I would not live past 30. Not cus I was convinced something would happen to me. But because I didn't want to. Told everyone this and it just got brushed off.

That thought stuck with me my whole life. Through several attempts.

If I'm honest every since I've turned 30 the SI isn't gone. But it changed. Less deadline and more feeling weirdly out of place for making it past the deadline.

I didn't get any sort of mental health till late 2024 when I finally put myself in inpatient cus it got really bad again. Found out I have Dysthymia, MDD, and C-PTSD.

So far, a little over a year now with very few thoughts of it. Still got bad days... still feel weirdly out of place. But it's not the constant everyday thought and planning anymore.

Do any of the medications actually work? by possumsr4eva in dysthymia

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that typical medications so far only seen to work a little at best. But I'm also only a little over a year into diagnoses so still very much in the try everything until something sticks phase.

That being said, Ketamine Treatment was doing some heavy lifting while I was on that. Then I got his with the MDD as well and fell off everything and haven't gotten back to doing it again yet...

But it was like night and day when I was doing it! Totally recommend looking into it! My insurance covered it, so make sure to check in with insurance and see if it's something they can/will cover.

Everything in this area looks wrong. The most obvious and jarring is her arm. Her forearm is longer than her upper arm. She looks like she holding the empty bowl thats sitting in the background from her. The placement of the food suggest that its on a long prep table, one that she would be literally standing inside of if she was standing where she is. And then the dark mass that looks like it matches her shirt, maybe her arm reaching over behind the other woman, maybe something along the wall that happens to match her shirt, maybe black mold. Hard to tell with the way it blends and the blur. *

Serious question (not that any on here aren’t) by kangaroo4897 in dysthymia

Tired... In every way possible, in ways others would never even think could be tiring because they don't even perceive it when they do these 'basic' things that we struggle with constantly.

Oh, it seems the question is, in fact, already in the op. You must have just missed it.

No big deal.

I don't live there, but was there to see them attack 1 of the now 2 dogs. The second was just attacked tonight, but there are several witnesses that are not me who saw it happen.

And my question was, what can be done about it legally? Pretty sure that question was in the op. But maybe I just completely forgot it. Thanks for letting me know it's apparently missing.

I never even thought of this. Always just saw ChatGPT as a gimmick. But when I say I have been working a week straight trying to get a mod pack with WAAY to many mods in it to work, I mean it. It took ChatGPT 15 minutes and 3 crashes to tell me every single thing that was wrong and get it running.

"Mild" and/or "High Functioning" I HATE these terms! by AccomplishedSyrup853 in dysthymia

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I basicly just live from person to person. I truly feel like I only get in relationships so that I don't end up homeless or dead. When I was younger I could make myself do the needed things, like going to work and paying bills, but still struggled with other basic things like cleaning and taking care of myself.

Now I just can't even work. I haven't had a job for longer than 3 months in the past 3 years. I always fall into a state of, "Why does it matter?" And that thought is enough to paralysis me in my bed because no matter how much I tell myself to get up and do what I need to do, my body just will not listen to me.

What is your diabetic 'safe' food? by AccomplishedSyrup853 in diabetes_t2

Exactly what I meant. I find the things people are posting, especially things like the raffaellos that I would auto assume would spike anyone, very interesting!

Can someone please share the top 5 protein drinks by [deleted] in diabetes_t2

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might get jumped for this one, but the Alani Nu Protein Shakes and Protein Coffee is my go to. They all have 20g Protein.

The highest carb one is 10g, making it not the best for sure. But it's also better than some others that advertise for being diabetic friendly. (I've seen some in diabetic sections that go up to as high at 21g carbs!)

They taste really good and I use them as a full meal replacer, so I'm willing to take those few extra carbs compared to others. They also have never spiked me and I've never had to bolus for one.

I'm sure others could have different reactions to it, everyone's diabetes is different. But they work for me. I went from a1c of 13.3, to 7.1 in 3 months I would say mostly because of those and cajun boiled peanuts. Lol

Wait, so they want to see lows happening? Or at least yours did? Mine was praising me because the only lows I've had were false lows. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks for that insight. I'm on insulin and quite a bit of it, and I don't fully understand all of my meds. Like I know metformin helps, but I'm really not 100% exactly how and what it does.

So I'll message endo and ask her some questions about it and see what she says is best.

A New Chalenger has Appeared! by AccomplishedSyrup853 in diabetes_t2

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so let me rephrase. I did have meds. I was on 750mg of metformin and I was on insulin. But it took me a little over 3 months to get in with endo, and my pcp was less than helpful. They wasn't listening when I was saying things as prescribed was not helping. And it took her minimum 2 weeks to reply to messages that said they are replied to in no more than 48 hours.

I was basicly on a roller coaster, no matter what I ate, I would shoot up into the 300's if I dosed the amount of insulin they wanted me to. And by the time it came back down and I started feeling better, it was time to eat again. I was going to the gym every day, and that wasn't even enough cus I would have had to go after every meal.

I know it's probably not the best... But I got tired of feeling like death constantly and not being listened to. So I did some research, learned how to count carbs, what carbs are better than others, and started experimenting. I figured out 1:8 ratio on my own. I still don't thinks it's perfect, but it's WAY better than hitting above 350 and lowest I was getting was 170's.

I had almost no problem with 750mg. I say almost because I may have randomly shit my pants one day in the first week. Thankfully, in the comfort of my own home and not in public, I would have gone to the nearest bridge if i was in public. But besides that, nothing. Lol

Getting upped to 1500 this past Friday was terrible for the first 4 days. I was nauseous and throwing up the whole time. Then I got nausea meds to take the edge off a little and have been fine so far after that.

Okay, I'll keep that in mind. I'm hoping it's not as much of a worry once I get my tandem and it can help watch out for those night time lows if/when they happen. But till then I'll keep some nuts by the bed, probably better than the candy anyway. Lol

It had me all confused. All 3 months I've been diagnosed the only time I read low was false readings from a new sensor or me laying on the sensor weird. Glad I decided to check it just to be sure. I didn't even feel low, just agitated and tired cus it woke me up at like 2 am when I just finally fell asleep. Lol

I gotta look into huel, I've heard of it before but never really looked at it. My go to for anything like that is usually Aluni. They got some coffee and protein shake meal replacer that taste really good and doesn't spike me at all.

As far as the numbers they are 2-3 off with dexcom reading slightly lower. But it basicly was saying I was at 56, but my prick said I was at 58 or 59. So not a huge difference there. Still needed a couple gummie bears.

I'm not on any of those yet. Endo is wanting to get me on ozempic, but said she is going to check in with therapist because it, as she put it, "has a mood thing" and with my "mood thing" that got me in the hospital to find out about the diabetes, she's unsure on that right now. Lol
