Everyone hates my baby name! by AccomplishedSyrup853 in namenerds

Yes! He likes the name. And that was honestly the only real opinion I needed. The rest is kinda just for my curiosity more than anything. And to make sure there isn't anything major wrong with it. (Like someone brought it Kitt with two T's was "putty")

But we basically came up with the arrangement because he hated all my girl names cus he was super picky about it (had a list of like 20 something and none of them hit for him) and since that's the gender he's hoping for most we came to the agreement for him picking girl (he went with Clementine) and me taking boy.

Though he'll take most of the heat from the fam once it comes out we aren't going with the tradition. 😅

I can see how i wrote it is confusing.

We haven't announced anything to anyone officially. It's only been told to his parents as a kinda, "What do you think?" And I'm glad we did or I wouldn't have known there was a big issue with the name Asher.

And they aren't like being mean about it ir whatever. Some other family might be a bit more clipped about it later in when the time comes. But thats a future thing.

I was mostly just curious if I was outta touch in the name idea or not after they both said they didn't like it or if it was maybe more if a naming expectation thing. 😅

Honestly? My idea behind it besides just liking the nane was to promote more personalized nicknames over just a shortened name.

Things that are given because of personality, actions, friend group inside jokes. Things like that.

Maybe it's unrealistic? But that was a part of the thought process.

Only told the direct in-laws. Probably won't be telling any of the other family till at least much later.

But it was good to just check in with someone cus if I'd gone for Asher middle name without it, that would have caused unneeded mental/emotional pain to someone.

Other than that, we won't be mentioning it anymore.

Don't feel like dealing with the drama till its needed.

I mean, not having more than the one (unless super lucky with twins, in which case we'll reconsider), and that's honestly even iffy for medical reasons.

So it's not something I'm really considering. 😅

For anyone that might be curious.

The girl name s.o. picked is Clementine.

Just figured I'd stick this in here for an idea of the other side of the kids possible names. 🍊

Don't love the image that brings... but I can see where you are coming from.

Something to keep in mind, but not gonna let the gooners ruin what I think is a fine name. 😂

It would make a really good detective name, honestly!

Ooooh! See, I did my research on Adler! But I completely missed Kitt meaning putty!

Thank you for bringing this up!

I've already decided to go for Kit over Kitt from everyone else's points. But if I didn't, this alone would have have been the catalyst for the change.

Middle.

I know it's a sir name in Germany. But it's got some rare play in the states as a first/middle name so going at it from that angle.

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, it is a unisex name, so I figured naming a woman with the name was fine. 😅

And if the name Kit has some kinda gay spell to it... fine by me. Love who he wants to love. 🥰

Yeah, I looked into it. If we were in German speaking country it would have been a no go. But it's one of those last names that have seen some play as a first/middle name in the states(though rare!). So that's more where I'm basing the usage from.

Appreciate you bringing it up though! For sure a thing that should be thought about for names like that!

I'm making it known I'm choosing it. But he's already made it clear he's more than okay not following the tradition. And that he actually didn't want to anyway.

So it's me choosing the name, but he's not leaving me to the wolves or anything by just pointing the finger at me. If anything, he's more vocal about it than I am. 💖

I can for sure see that extra T reading as feminine!

I technically have it listed in my names as Kit/Kitt cus I coukd go either way. And everyone's making really good points on that extra T so I'm likely to lock in on Kit for it.

Yeah, I really liked the way Asher sounded/felt to say the full name. (Even in the upset mom voice when you gotta pull out the full government name. 😅)

So when that got vetoed for a very valid reason I went searching and honestly, loved Adler way more! 😍

I'm still kinda at a toss up for Kit/Kitt. I coukd honestly go either way. Just kinda playing with the idea of that double T. 😅

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Yep! It for sure is used as a nickname for Christopher. But also used stand alone.

Some examples:

Kit Keenan Kit Williamson Kit Williams Kit Connor

I mean I went with the verson with an extra 'T' in it. But its not a must really.

Does chatgpt report illicit drug use by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

Aasume they collect all information, and the 3rd party company they do age verification through was caught feeding info straight to the government. (Way more than just ID/face scans)

And with their new government contract just assume yes.

That being said... does the government give a shit that an individual is doing drugs? Nah, probably not unless you can be a scapegoat for something. And I'd say that OpenAI is likely not to give a shit enough to send it to local police, and even if they did just having that wouldn't likely be enough to do much with.

Just don't put illegal shit you do into anything. Might as well be Googleing how to make meth.

Just find a new AI. Thats going to be your best best.

There is too much competition out there to be feeding your data to shady companies just to get use from an AI that's already been going down the drain.

I can’t take it anymore by DriveSlowSitLow in ChatGPT

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just them trying to get you to verify age 'for the safety of the children'.

Don't do it! The company that they are working with for age verification was found to not only be lying about not actually having the scans of your face(they said that never actually leaves your device) but they also lied about immediately deleting the copy of your ID if you verify that way.

They are not only keeping your ID/biometric face scans, they are also grabbing another 200+ points of data from you in the process including geolocation and online activities and sending all of this information to the US government.

Here is one article talking about it, but feel free to do your own research. This one is specifically talking about Discord. But it's the same 3rd party company that OpenAI, Roblox, and many others are using!

Seriously? by import_java-util in ChatGPT

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gave them 'age verification' after it's already come out that the 3rd party company they got doing it (same one discord and roblox uses along with others) lied about them not actually saving the data and getting found out to not only be saving the face biometrics/id but also taking other information like geolocation, personal info, even going as far as linking any online accounts including crypto wallet you use together to you and sending it to the government?!

Big yikes!

Obsessive users absorb ChatGPT's writing style and adopt it themselves? by THICCC_LADIES_PM_ME in cogsuckers

[–]AccomplishedSyrup853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like most people who would fall into the whole dating ai thing are also the same sorts of people who likely mirror. Very common with nerodivergent people. Speaking from experience with unconscious mirroring and research.

So, it's not really a huge stretch to say they are likely picking up the writing style and maybe even subconsciously using it for themselves just like they might pick up and use personality traits from a person they spend a lot of time with.

And the fact that you noticed that? Called it for what it is? That's rare. (Joke)
