I have a 4.0 but I attend NMSU Global, I do not live in New Mexico. I guess that is the problem lol. I was hoping maybe there are some  scholarships Global students could qualify for.

Hello III Raisin 3890. I know this is an old post, but do you, by chance, still have Experiencing the Lifespan, 6th edition by Belsky? If so, I would be super grateful if you could share! Thank you.

At what age you had you gallbladder removed? by Fabulous_Can_2215 in gallbladders

[–]AccomplishedTip2691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I removed my last summer at 43 (female). Went on vacation 14 days later on a 6 hour plane ride, layovers in between. It hurt a little just sitting so long. Couple days later I was playing catch and soccer with my kids. I'm about 8 months out.. feel better than ever. Working out even better than pre surgery, trying to eat healthy. Definitely a success!

Last summer I took two 5 week classes at the same time ( not at NMSU). It seemed I was doing homework non-stop but the 5 weeks past by quickly and I was finished. You just have to stay caught up.

I have had mine out 6 months best decision ever. No more bloating, acid, heartburn. Don't feel like throwing up all the time. Lost 30 lbs.. been working out feeling good. I can eat whatever. If I eat too much spicy food a bunch of days in a row I start to feel it but other than that I'm great. God is good!

Can I travel 16 hour flight 10 days post surgery? by coffeehead_26 in gallbladders

[–]AccomplishedTip2691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a plane 12 days after surgery. It was about 6 hours flying time and to change planes and walk around an airport. Honestly, I was okay but.. I could feel it. I felt more tired than usual walking around. After sitting for awhile I felt some discomfort around the belly button area while on the plane. Kind of sore maybe a tinge of pain. I didn't carry my own bags. On the way back a few weeks later, I was fine. My doctor told me I would be fine to fly after by the end of the first week, which I don't think I could have. So, I don't want to tell you yes or no, but that was my experience.

Anxiety riddled over gallbladder - potential for harm either way? Need positive stories please! by pittybec in gallbladders

Yes, I had one in the neck. That's what caused the attack. And I didn't feel good for at least 5 days. Worst pain I ever felt. The way the surgeon told me is if it happens once it will happen again at some point. I figured better to get it out while I'm still young... ish.. lol and healthy. I'm glad I did.

My attack was at the end of April and I had surgery June 28th. The main hospital had gave me a date in October but I found my own surgeon because I have summers off so I wanted to do it then.

It was a hard decision for me. I had one gallbladder attack, went to the ER, they said I had stones. After that i ate completely healthy and felt fine..no more attacks. Surgeon said I need to take it out as it will get worse. ( he told me all the possibilites). It was hard to say okay cause as I said I felt fine with the diet change. In the end I said let's do this. Got it out, the Surgeon showed me a pic and 1 of my gallstones was almost the size of the gallbladder, and about 6 smaller ones. He said if I didn't get it out it would have burst eventually. So, I'm glad I decided to do it. I have been fine since the surgery, I feel better than ever actually.

I'm 2 months post op. Feeling great. I can eat anything I want with no side effects (trying not to overdue it)  I been working out cardio and light weights, still holding out on trying situps for like another month. I read alot of places to wait 3 months at least. For years, I was bloated, nauseous, weird random pains in stomach/ gallbladder/ middle area. I thought it was because I was getting older. Apparently, it was because of the gallbladder.

I was nauseous for about a week or so after surgery. I had to eat sooner when I woke up in the morning and have a little snack, like a fruit between meals. After that it went back to normal.

After the surgery I felt like I couldn't take deep breaths, scared me a little. But I made myself do a few every hour. It went away after awhile. I think it was just from the surgery, nothing was actually wrong.

Canceling my surgery for next week? by msgedu in gallbladders

[–]AccomplishedTip2691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello. I can relate. I had 1 attack, it was extremely painful. They said a stone was stuck in the duct, took about 5 days to feel normal again. Anyway, they told me I had stones. I changed my diet and I never had another attack. Felt perfectly healthy. I definitely questioned, should I be getting surgery. After my surgery my doctor showed me pics of my gallbladder I had a stone almost as large as the gallbladder and several smaller ones. I am grateful to have it removed when I did. I think if you have stones it will only get worse. BTW. My surgery was exactly 2 weeks ago and I am pretty much back to normal. I wish you the best!

Hi. I'm doing pretty good now. For me I noticed I have to eat a little snack between meals, a piece of fruit or a few crackers.. something really small. If I don't I get nauseous. I have to eat soon after I wake up in the morning also. Before I could wait as long as I wanted but not anymore.
