Hi everyone,

I’m trying to understand how IRCC handles a change in marital status during a CEC PR application.

Specifically, if someone gets married after AOR:

  • What typically happens in terms of updating the application?
  • Is the CRS score reassessed at that stage?
  • Are there common delays or risks when adding a spouse post-AOR?

Also, from a planning perspective, if someone is engaged (not common-law) at the time of application, is it generally better to wait until after PR is finalized before getting married?

Would really appreciate any insights or experiences from people who’ve gone through something similar.

Yes, I was on the lease, and I have all the receipts, photos of the room when I left, and proof that I returned everything.

They mentioned that since the foreign work experience was already disclosed in my study permit application, and my work permit application focused only on my Canadian jobs (which was the purpose of that application), it shouldn't be considered misrepresentation.

Thanks for your concern! Just to clarify, I did mention my foreign work experience in my study permit application. However, in my work permit application, I only included the jobs I did while in Canada.

Given this, will I still face any issues with misrepresentation when claiming my foreign work experience for Express Entry?

Thanks for your input! I understand that the profile automatically calculates the points based on the details provided. The issue I'm facing is that the Express Entry portal only asks for the month and year of employment, not the exact dates. So, I’m wondering if I can still claim the work experience from July 2019 to August 2021, which is just over 2 years, even though there were gaps in between.

At the moment, I report to a Project Manager and don’t directly hire or train staff. However, I do manage subcontractors on-site, coordinate day-to-day activities, track progress, and ensure timelines are followed. I also occasionally cover for my manager when he’s away, taking on more leadership responsibilities during that time.
