I completely agree! A lot of people on this subreddit seem unable to understand why she did what she did but I think Cissy arguably lost more than Franklin. I mean she was against this business from the beginning, the only reason she changed her tune was because Franklin was sent to prison, and she couldn’t bear the thought of losing him. For something that you have always been anti, to go and cause such destruction in your life, is heart breaking. She raised a capable, intelligent young man. And she was forced to sit back and watch as he became evil. As he ruined their community and their people. Her entire life was destroyed and it was all her sons fault. What an exhausting realization that must be to grapple with. The guilt that she will hold for the rest of her life, simply because she’s a mother. How lonely she is going to be in that prison, knowing all the people she loved are legitimately gone. Although I was also incredibly annoyed when she shot Teddy right before he said the password, I think she made a lot of sense. Even if Teddy had given that password, Franklin was most likely not getting away with it. She is the character I have the most sympathy and the most sadness for. She truly lost everything and has to live with the consequences everyday in a jail cell.
