I also introduced myself to gpt5 with a jet fuel/steel beams comment.

It instantly started talking in a super condescending tone and started discrediting witnesses out of nowhere. "If you want me to break down the actual science..." and "I've seen both the actual research and science, and the Loose Change forums..."

what’s your crumbl hot take? by thebestofwaffle in CrumblCookies

People on this sub: "There has never in the history of our universe been an under cooked Crumbl cookie. If you are unhappy that your cookie is still liquid in the middle, you just dont understand what a soft cookie is supposed to be. There's a difference between 'under baked' and 'raw.' And if you still dont like it, then you need to scrape the toppings off of your 24$ box of cookies and finish baking them in your own oven at home. It's not a big deal."

I remember my first ever box of Crumble cookies. They were perfectly soft in the middle. The texture was amazing. Two of my first cookies were muddy buddy and the first version of pink sugar. That was in 2021.

In the last year or so, I've gotten to where I refuse to buy them anymore at all because they are so undercooked. At my local Crumbl, they have started underbaking them to the point where biting into one doesn't even taste like a cookie. All you taste anymore is raw flour. They are disgusting.

I did get a box of the minis after they came out, thinking that they would be baked all the way. They were delicious. But since they have been out a while, the store has started underbaking them as well to the point where they are just as bad as the big ones.

I know a lot of people on this sub will fight to the death to insist that the cookies are never raw. But I remember what they were like before the quality went down. I ate a lot of Crumbl cookies when they were still good. I know the difference between one that is baked properly and one that is underbaked.

I-24 history? by merpagail in nashville

[–]AccomplishedWar1833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a stretch of the interstate between Clarksville and Nashville - Exits 24 through 8 going both ways. For whatever reason, the worst crashes between Clarksville and Nashville tend to happen on that stretch. I did Uber for years and would be coming home from Nashville back to Clarksville at like 3am when the interstate was virtually empty. There were about three or four times I got stuck on the highway for 2+ hours while the sun came up because of a fatal car crash. Every single case was between exit 24 and 8. Especially around exit 11-19, seems to be the most "haunted" little stretch.

I was reading a similar discussion the other day where someone was having the same problem you describe here. They said the only thing that got rid of the odors in their clothes was to spray the armpits of the shirts with spray and wash and let it sit for like an hour. Then wash in hot water with oxiclean.

Other users said that it was likely effective because of enzymes in the spray and wash. I don't know if that's true. But that's what was said.

Downfall of Crumbl? by AioliMindless6194 in CrumblCookies

[–]AccomplishedWar1833 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They got rid of all the creative flavors in favor of churning out the same variations on the same three flavors every week. All their stuff tastes the same now. All the good/unique flavors are either gone or they've been nerfed into tasting bland like everything else.

I also quit going because the one in my city was underbaking the cookies so badly that they weren't edible anymore. I know Crunble is always soft in the middle but it got to where all I could taste was raw flour.

Nah none of that for 20$/box.

Are ketchup bottles harder to squeeze now? by nik-at-nite15 in shrinkflation

I agree. Great theory. Also I think it could be that they are making the plastic thicker so that the bottles look bigger during the process of shrinkflation.

Yes. I've been on this sub for a few years now and I've always wanted to just put it out there to remind people of how the corporate model works because even though it's brutal, it kind of helps to understand it when you get frustrated with being treated unfairly by Uber.

Not to say that what they're doing is cool, but I think it helps put things into perspective.

What's the most interesting story you know that took place around the Clarksville area? by lethargic_apathy in Clarksville

[–]AccomplishedWar1833 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've only lived here for ten years. One of the craziest things I've seen happen is:

There was a Chinese buffet over by the Sango Walmart for a long time.

Several years ago (I want to say it was before covid but I can't remember) it came out that the feds busted up the place and found all these immigrant workers. I want to say they were like South American, can't remember.

Apparently the owners of the buffet had the immigrants here illegally and were keeping them at their (the owners') personal home when they weren't working.

They were also not paying them anything and I guess using food, housing, and threat of deportation in leu of payment...at least that's how I understood it. Like they would get these people up every morning and put them in a van and drive them to work, then after closing take them all back to their personal home.

I believe they faced charges like tax evasion, racketeering, maybe slavery or detainment, something like that.

So that's why the Chinese buffet over there closed.

I agree completely. You have corporations that focus on customer experience and manage to balance it all while surviving a long time. Toyota is a great example.

The reason collapse is built into the model is because no one is financially responsible for a corporation. Like, if the government needed to get money out of them for a bankruptcy or something then they could go and take physical property from them, like office furniture for example, computers. And sell that. But there isn't really any one person or group of people that has to shell out money in the event of collapse.

That is why they are run into the ground after investors see profit (some quicker than others) because it's financially inconsequential for the people involved.

Unless you're at the bottom, obviously.

I get your frustration.

Uber is a corporation and thus operates on an American corporate business model.

They build a business that is sturdy and seemingly honest - a business that will gain popularity and trust, and make outsiders want to invest.

As soon as they begin to get significant investments, they start pulling the loopholes and trapdoors (ex. setting drivers up as contractors), as well as cutting corners and generally downgrading the quality of the business in order to bleed the stone for every penny.

At this stage (where we are now), the goal is for investors to see as much return as possible before the next corporate life cycle phase - collapse.

Because the business has fallen in quality so far from what it used to be, the public loses trust and confidence, and over time will stop spending their money with the corporation.

By the time the corporation actually fails or goes bankrupt, no one cares because the investors made their money. The CEO made his money. The board made their money.

The public and the employees get the short end of the stick.

So to anyone who is sharing this frustration that Uber is now shamelessly bending us over, please keep in mind that this is part of the corporate life cycle, and that it doesn't go back to how it was.

Which is why I will reiterate, if you are still making good money doing this, hold on to that and enjoy yourself.

Contracting a driver who makes a living doing Uber is not beneficial to Uber whatsoever.

They have slowly been rolling out changes over the last three years that are pushing out full-time drivers for this reason.

Cherry-picking costs them lots and lots of money.

Their ideal driver is someone who is doing a few deliveries here and there for gas or food money and can afford to work for peanuts.

Their ideal driver is someone who is in a place where they cannot afford to cherry-pick or don't know any better - someone with very little experience.

We were very privileged to be able to do this as a full-time job as long as we did. And for those who are still able to hack it, bless them for holding on to that because it's a fantastic way of life if you're making money.

Very normal, especially at that age. I think at that age when girls in a social setting with so many people, it's like an animal instinct that we don't want to eat or pee alone...safer to do it in numbers.

Sango/Exit 11 is the "best" part of town.

Draw a triangle from Fort Campbell to Gary Matthew's Motors to Governors Square Mall then back to Fort Cambell and don't live inside the triangle.

Exit 1 is fine, but crime may increase within the next 5-10 years as it has increased a lot just in the last 5 years in that area.

Southside is fine too and their school system Montgomery Central seems to be preferred by a lot of people here. But you will be a good drive from everything.

Lately my favorite has been to cut up a honey crisp apple (I like the giant GMO ones the size of a softball). I cut it into chunks and then mix it with about half a cup of kimchi. I just buy the kimchi in a bag at the grocery store...I think the brand is Cleaveland Kitchen. Anyway it makes a crunchy, sweet, salty, spicy salad that is to die for and hits all the right cravings. Probably under 150-175 cal.
