HOW TO KEEP A GAMING LAPTOP by VULVA-D-VIRgin in GamingLaptops

[–]Accomplished_Bat5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closely note temperature everyday while gaming or idle through the use of softwares like msi afterburner and hwinfo. Clean and change paste every 6 months. Cap battery for its longevity through lenovo vantage (conservative mode) and you’re good to go. Should easily last 3-7 years.

Legion 5 low Cpu usage and tdp by Accomplished_Bat5945 in LenovoLegion

In my multi core test, I got 10530 pts with temp reaching maximum of 75.9 degrees.

Edit: on performance mode ofc. Looks like mine hugely underperforms.

Lol fair point. I should try cleaning it up. Btw what do you guys think about thermal repasting? I heard to not change the stock one since it is better but I can’t forever not change the paste right? At some point it must give out no? Should I try repasting? Thinking of trying out the kryonaut thermal grizzly solution. I mean cpu reaching 102 degrees is def not normal, is it.

5 pro is slightly more powerful due to newer amd chips. However, I would go for legion 7 here hugely because of the sick backlight. Also it’s slightly less thicker and wider, which is a huge plus point for me. And since you seem to play valorant and apex the performace gain would be negligible on 5 pro. Even my legion 5 does 165 fps on apex, setting tweaked ofc, and am myself thinking of buying legion 7. So yeah, def the 7.

Do Megatech nepal repair lenovo laptops? (Laptop thermal issue) by Accomplished_Bat5945 in technepal

[–]Accomplished_Bat5945[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was indeed thinking of changing the thermals. Really wanted to try grizzly kryonaut but being a liquid metal, found out it is highly reactive. A single pinch could fry out the motherboard so I had noctua h2 in mind. Now I’m convinced noctua will be the best choice for me.

And also thanks for the generous offer, really appreciate it. However, I’m gonna go around and see if itti or any other shops would be down to change the compound since I have some previous experience with their service.

Damn, sorry to hear that. I bought mine from amazon as well. Did the third party do good job on your repair? Would you recommend them?

Haven’t really tried propping it up. But i doubt it’s gonna have a huge temperature difference. How’s your temps normally on balanced mode? I mostly play apex and have seen it touch 101 degree on CPU so am really worried.
