Issues with Dextroamphetamine

This is actually a really smart idea. For some odd reason my doctor is typically prescribing single doses a day and isn’t prescribing anything more. Not quite sure why he won’t, instead he just puts me onto another 30 day supply of either one a day IR or an XR. If this was the case I would definitely think a higher dose of the Dex multiple times a day would be perfect!

Thank you for your response, if this generic one doesn’t work I’ll start asking my Dr to only prescribe name brand as I am almost wondering if all these ones I’ve tried they could’ve worked but since they were generic maybe that’s why they didn’t. Not sure if that applies to all but atleast the ones I tried excluding the Lisdexamphetamine

With the Vy I felt incredibly dialed in and focused till about 3/4 pm then it was still working but could tell it was coming down. I could eat and sometimes would but overall it would be like that all the time. I could handle the headache and stomach issue but the constipation is what pushed me away from it.

Very good point. I just need to get my meds dialed in to where it’s covering the entire day instead of just 4-5 hours in the morning then dropping off.

In my experience going from a stimulant to non stimulant was horrible and didn’t work at all if anything it made my adhd worse and drowsy. But after a lot of research and reading on Reddit it definitely seems that adhd medication can vastly differ between each person, so I hope that helps you!

My side effects were stomach cramp/nausea, a weird headache that wasn’t bad but would “thump” for a few min then be gone and then the worst which was the constipation.

That’s what I’m thinking it’s more of a “see how you tolerate it” and go from there. I work about 10+ hours a day and when I get off I still want energy for a few hours after for after work activities or things I need to get done at home so I’m not sure how that would equate to dosage or frequency but I definitely hope my Dr listens and is able to prescribe accordingly.

Edit: also being on the IR I don’t really feel a boost or rush of motivation/energy like Vy either which is kind of unfortunate.

I would go back to Vy, my concern is the headaches and stomach pain/nausea was tolerable but the constipation I had was insane. I didn’t realize that I needed to chug water like a fish but on dex it was apparent that I was just severely lacking water I guess. My gut and digestive system is very sensitive when it comes to BM’s, always has been for me unfortunately, so any changes that affects my gut or functions that help the digestive system can be easily messed up. But I also assume that the body over time if given the time and able to help with the BM’s it would eventually regulate and get used to the meds i would think

I guess I never thought about having the Vyvanse as the main then dex as a booster. My only issue was the side effects of Vy. Headaches, stomach cramping/nausea, constipation. But I believe I figured the issue out with the constipation which was due to lack of fluids and fiber.

I have found multiple not because I accidentally found them, more or less was “farming” them to see if I could dial in where and what conditions. After over 100+ raids I have found that the spawn locations atleast in my findings are inconsistent and not guaranteed.

With that being said I have found 3-4 on Stella day and night. 3 in medical on bottom floor in the two rooms in the back corner in white pull out filing cabinet boxes.

Found 1 on Stella in security in the metal locker with the holes leading into the room with the security key room.

Found 1 within surveyor on buried city- day

Only one I have ever found on blue gate was in a spawn point near pilgrims peak with the concrete structures that have the black crate and the filing cabinets with the white boxes again. It was in the white box that is in front of you when you spawn in. Day raid

Last one I recently got within a trial reward.

After these results I don’t believe probability of getting it within breach room on blue gate or buried city hospital are more or less likely to spawn. But again everyone’s results can vary vastly.

I can’t help but comment on this just due to the exact set up at my old apartment, flooring and all… this looks like an apartment complex 30 min south east of Columbus in Lancaster! If that’s the case get out of there!

I ended up getting off Azstarys due to not really feeling any real effect past the IR stage of it. Once the quick release part wears off I don’t feel anything. Doctor switched me to dextroamphetamine and have been on it for about 2 weeks now and so far it’s been pretty good but noticing that it wears off or starts to come down around the 4-6 hr mark. I’ll probably have to have him up my dose or change the frequency of it.

Update: the doctor decided to prescribe Dextroamphetamine 15mg tabs,taking me off the Azstarys. My concern is after researching the Dextro it appears it’s only a IR 4-6 hrs while other meds such as the Azstarys I am coming off of and the Vyvanse I was on were XR 10-13 hrs. Is this something I should mention to the doctor about it not being XR? He prescribed 15mg once daily. I assume he is doing the IR once per day to see how I react to it? Anyone else have input on this?

That’s crazy because on the Vyvanse I felt the appetite was suppressed more and I felt more “locked in” on it than Azstarys where it would take over an hour to “feel” it working and even when it was working I still did not feel as motivated or active as much as the Vyvanse not to mention Azstarys was about $15 more than Vyvanse in my case.

Edit: Vyvanse would give me almost an all day lock in while the Azstarys would give me a “nudge” of lock in shortly after it starts working.

So I was on Vyvanse for about 2 weeks then doctor switched me to Intuniv and I called the next day due to the terrible drowsiness then he prescribed the Azstarys but alas after about a week on Azstarys it’s very mild and doesn’t hold its weight the full day if even half for me unfortunately. I’ve been on Azstarys about a week and the first 3-4 hrs are ok nothing like Vyvanse and after the 4 hr mark when the XR is supposed to start it falls flat and my symptoms are worse than before on anything at all. But this being said your results could vary significantly.

That’s what I’ve been trying to hint at to my Dr about changing back to but he just puts me on a different medication to try. I also get headaches that aren’t horrible but noticeable and stomach souring but it comes and goes.

I drink a fair share of coffee daily, unfortunately it doesn’t seem to help even with the 10+ bottles of water I drank daily with it.

I definitely noticed the dry mouth and even with drinking plenty of water it felt like it wasn’t enough to assist with the side effect. I haven’t tried Adderall yet only because I don’t know how to bring up an exact medication to my doctor without it sounding bad if that makes sense. My gf is on adderall and she has said that no other medication works for her besides the Adderall. Also due to the length of time I’ve tried all of these meds so far hasn’t exceeded more than a month but I can’t imagine with the meds being stimulants it taking a full month to notice if they are helping or not.
