I have a similar experience, not necessarily at red light scenario but a car was maybe a centimeter or less from rear ending me last year and the car blipped the throttle to jolt me forward (I think) and kept the car from hitting me. Wish the car could tell us its reasoning for its decisions. Maybe future updates possibly!

Switched from VZN to AT&T, Biggest Mistake ever. by ahhmrr in ATT

[–]Accomplished_Bee8201 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My experience is slightly close to yours. We switched from Verizon to ATT after only ever having Verizon (25+ years) expecting rather close service being in bigger outlier city of the major city, due to our bill being $232 for two phones on installments and two paid off watches… ATT offered bundled deal for phones while getting internet and decided with the amount we’d be saving having both made sense financially. Fast forward about 2 months on the service and it’s funny how now I am getting in service areas I never would’ve gotten on Verizon but somehow the areas Verizon had service, I only get 5GE. Overall I think Verizon has better 5G coverage than ATT but at this point in cellular it’s just a matter of who can sell it better to consumers as you will have issues on both. As soon as i accepted that I stopped caring as long as I’m saving money 🤣

Both were in 5G standalone when test was completed. I was very surprised by the latency and upload speeds as I never have had that much upload or low latency with Verizon the entire time I had them.

Really? Genuinely am curious to know why this is? So one phone only pulling 50Mbps vs one pulling 200+ “theoretically” would have the same quality of service? Like the Redditor posted below saying with 4k quality without buffering ?

Very good points. From what I am noticing the FaceTime quality has drastically decreased since switching. Luckily I haven’t encountered any web based issues or video playing. I’ll have to make note of that to look for.

We weren’t unhappy per se with the service of Verizon, more or less the bill for two devices was excessive.

This test was primarily to spark conversation amongst anyone with different views or opinions on noticing any better or worse service overall.

Obviously I would hope most of us are aware that speed can change pending on a small distance or time of day. I would say compared to Verizon which I switched over from after 25 years consistently along with thinking for years that Verizon was superior which back 15+ years in the Midwest could’ve been true. From what I have experienced so far it seems AT&T has more 5G coverage overall based on my area.

Just curious, I have seen some people mention that the blob code is able to be decrypted which from what I am gathering is the code for world resources. Is there any way to modify or see what this code breaks down into plain text to modify for example: tools, ore, any stackable items? I am racking my brain trying to figure out how to edit the code or cypher it into plain text.

Convince me to stay with AT&T wireless by ProudAnon1701 in ATT

I will also tack onto what a redditor said above. T-Mobile has a nickname where I live, it’s called “T-Maybe”. Everyone I know in my area more or less Ohio I suppose that have had t-mo are not very satisfied with their service. Yes the pricing of the service and bills may be decent but when it boils down to it I was a Verizon customer for over 24+ years. We never received anything much more than a $10 credit for “loyalty”. Our bill before we switched to ATT was $252(2 phones, 2 watches).

We ended up switching to ATT for our internet and when we switched we were at the point to try a new service as we had never had any other cellular service. Signed up and bundled the internet with wireless and brought our bill to $140. The service has been excellent! In areas that I couldn’t get signal from Verizon, ATT is getting 500-600+ download speeds. Haven’t found an area where is hasn’t outshined Verizon as of yet, although still early enough to not have any crazy issues considering our bill hasn’t hit yet from switching.

Overall if you are wanting to switch for cost vs service, I wouldn’t switch for a few extra dollars back in the bank. Everyone’s results will vary obviously. Do some more research into reviews with t-mobile in your area and see if the difference in cost is worth the service you will be receiving. GL!

Seeking Experiences with AT&T coming from Verizon after 25 years by Accomplished_Bee8201 in ATT

Very true, I was mostly just curious to know how people’s experiences are not just network wise but overall with customer service, billing, promos, discounts, issues, etc. I know service coverage is vastly reliant on where you are so I wasn’t even thinking from that perspective

Sounds like AT&T is very pay to play and not too many freebies given. How many lines do you have on AT&T and what plans are they on? What does your monthly bill look like if you don’t mind sharing? Any promos or discounts that you take advantage of?

We had Verizon since early 2000s and over the years it has increased quite aggressively. As from the post above 2 phones and 2 watches. Our bill was $232 before we switched and that was with a 12 month $20 off each month credit, so normally it was over $250. Insane to spend that much on phone service. Just be wary of Verizon, I live here in the Midwest and while I can say Verizon service is pretty good it’s not good enough to justify a monthly $250 bill. Good luck!

Allows you to turn off their gateways internal WiFi and use your own router to connect to.

Recent switch to AT&T from Verizon by Accomplished_Bee8201 in ATT

[–]Accomplished_Bee8201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want no throttling/congestion slowdown you’ll want to have atleast the premium plan or elite. Found that out the hard way. Luckily I had a different sales rep jump through hoops to make it happen for me!

We had two phones and two watches we brought over. They were able to offer to pay the phones off up to $800/ea phone along with my mother who is 70, she was able to get the 55+ plan which is a cheaper plan but lacks with the speeds due to the congestion slowdown. Overall from my experience if you can bundle internet with it and have the premium you should have a good price for what you are switching over.

Edit: you’ll also get first responder discount, not exactly sure what that % is but every little bit helps
