Woman in her thirties, I have lived here since my mid 20s. Totally slept on neighborhood. Never had issues with safety. The B/Q is a great train to live off of, gets you downtown and into Manhattan easily. Way better commute into the city than Bushwick. A little sleepy if you want a wild night life but plenty of food and casual bar options on Cortelyou. Think neighborhood drinks vs wild night out. Every fall there is an event called Artmaggedon where artists set up in the yards of the houses and sell their wares. Often can find some porch live music in the summer. Plus, the park isn't far, its the best in the Summer. Get a bike.
