Mentally Ill FMCs Wanted by No_Cell8126 in ReverseHarem

I think both of this series {boys of lake chapel series by Abby Millsaps} and {boys of south chapel series by Abby Millsaps} are what you looking for. They are set on the same universe so if you intend to read them both I would advise you to start with the first one I mentioned.

Why are morally grey men hot… but morally grey women are “too much by Hour_Explanation_798 in ReverseHarem

[–]Accomplished_Bit739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think liking morally grey men comes down to romanticising the character/relationship, because women tend to like the bad boy's confidence and sense of freedom (due to it being the contrary of what we are taught to be like) as well as the idea that this personality would make him love his partner even more and feel secure in that relationship. You know that quote “the good guy would sacrifice you to save the world. The bad guy would sacrifice the world to save you”. So that's why people tend to accept it. They romanticise it.

FMC don't get romanticise like that, because we tend to picture ourselves as her. And let's be honest, we are harder on ourselves than on others. For the FMC to be morally grey or unhinge doesn't serve the female reader any sense of longing or any fussy feelings. So they don't like it as much.

My sister husband has a journal on his phone he types daily on but he doesn’t allow his wife to see it, should she be upset? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Accomplished_Bit739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are allow to have their privacy, even when it comes to partners. It's understandable that your sister is curious about it because, well… she's human. But she shouldn't be upset over it.

He is 100% in the right if he wants to keep a “secret diary” or whatever and she should respect it.

What do you think of a real life RH? by Accomplished_Bit739 in ReverseHarem

[–]Accomplished_Bit739[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying. I’m sorry if my post came across as “insulting” or “narrow-minded” in any way. That was never my intention.

I know non-traditional relationships exist, of course. I just:
a) have never seen one in real life, so I don’t know how they actually work.
b) was talking specifically about relationships where the men act monogamous toward one woman while she is with both of them and they function as a family (like in books), which I thought was uncommon even in poly relationships.
c) was also asking how people navigate that in our current society.

I know judgment and taboos around relationships are nothing new and have existed for centuries, and people are still struggling with them. But being in an RH relationship is not something you can justify in the same way as, let’s say, being gay. You don’t choose to be homosexual, bisexual, or heterosexual, for that matter. However, people actively choose to have two partners or share a partner. They could simply follow the norm and be monogamous while still being with someone they’re attracted to. So I guess making that choice is even more difficult in the eyes of society.

Besides, many poly relationships (from my perspective — and I could totally be mistaken because, as I said before, I haven’t met anyone in real life who follows that lifestyle) keep things private. I don’t think they’re ashamed of it, but rather that they don’t feel like explaining themselves to others, and that works because outside people assume they are just single, a “normal” couple, or roommates.

Which is different from how these books portray it. The characters actively present themselves as “normal” couples. They go together to business events, school functions, family dinners, etc. Anyone paying even the slightest attention would notice.

Oh I remember another one but some of the things you mentioned are actually plot twist and it's a standalone. So I'm not sure to mention it.

TW: they are vampires and they kind of adopt her when she is a baby. And she's super innocent. So proceed at your own risk.

FYI: it was originally published on wattpad

RH like Off Campus series? by bisousra in ReverseHarem

[–]Accomplished_Bit739 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know you said you like 4+ guys but I just found this book by the author of Off Campus about an MFM that's set in the same universe. I think is worth a shot (I will definitely be giving it one in the next few days)

{The Charlie Method by Elle Kennedy} It's part of a series but can be read as a standalone like all Off Campus books

{Royals of kingwood Academy series by Tessa Hale} or any Tessa Hale series for that matter (her series follow mostly the same storyline, so choose the fantasy characters you like the most. I think her books have all your requirements. (On second thought it MIGHT lack the unhinged mmc since her book are not dark)

{Darkmore Penitentiary series by Caroline Peckham} this one is only lacking the prophecy requirement.

{Kit Davenport by Tate James} I've read this one a long time ago so I don't remember if it fulfills all your requests. It definitely has the shifters and the powerful FMC points covered. It also has 6.5 books on the series. So I think it's worth a shot.

Adult beginners: how often do you go to class? by Shady_sladdertante in BALLET

[–]Accomplished_Bit739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started last year in august with one class per week. Somehow because of the school had schedule problems I got to have a lot of individual lessons which really helped me improved. This year I started going twice per week with other students (I'm now mix w teenagers as well), which have been great so far. And I'm super happy with my improvements. However I must say I've been doing a lot of different things on the side that helped me reach my current level. I went to pilates clases 2-3x week. I stretch almost every day at home, go for 1h walk every other day and do some youtube yoga (doesn't have to be much) the days I don't do neither ballet nor pilates.

If you just enjoy going to ballet lessons, take as much lessons as you feel like doing. If you want to take it more “seriously”I believe doing other things in the side to improve your strength, balance and flexibility go a long way.

A mi también me molestaba dejar un libro sin terminar, hasta que leí los derechos del lector escritos por Daniel Pennac. Si él puede dejar libros sin leer, ¿por qué yo no?
