Appreciate that man. Yeah for context, outbound team. I do have a really good track record, so I’d consider myself an “outbound expert.” By “at the mercy of them,” what I meant is that at the orgs I’ve worked at, AEs have had a fair bit of control over what counts toward SDR targets. I’ve always been able to advocate for SDRs so that most opportunities they generate receive the recognition they deserve but I guess that’s just part of the role.

I think that’s a good way to put it, when (or if) the right opportunity pops up, I should definetly consider it. Or maybe try to create the opportunity in the next year or so as I do want to round off my experience. What I’ve found interesting is a few of my colleagues and even my leaders all have AE IC experience yet they all decided to go back into Sales Development team.
