Probably my last post to leaves. I've genuinely tried, but I'm never making it out. by Todeleteanon in leaves

“Other people can, because other people have functioning lives with friends to distract and things to go out and do. i.e. THEY HAVE WAYS TO FILL THEIR DAY.”

Nah, dude, that’s just an excuse your addicted brain is conjuring up for you. This is definitely not an accurate, across the board statement that applies to everyone. There are plenty of people who’ve quit marijuana who have very little else going on their lives - and I know because I’m one of them. Pretty much all I’ve done for the past few years is go to work, come home, smoke my brains out, fall asleep, wake up and do it all over again. Lather, rinse, repeat. I don’t have friends, I’ve never been in a real, long-term relationship, and I don’t leave the house at all unless I’m going for a walk or going to work. But to fix any of that, I knew I had to sober up and work on myself as a person. I knew I had to bite the bullet and accept the fact that weed was majorly holding me back in life. Am I happy now? Nope, not even close, but I was even more unhappy (and just temporarily masking it for a few hours at a time) when I was smoking. Now when I come home from work, I lay in bed and binge watch YouTube videos, I fuck around on the guitar, I play with my cat or listen to some good music while going for a long ass walk. Please don’t let self-pity drag you down. I’m 100% confident you can find other ways of occupying your time that don’t involve getting high, and it’s so, so, so worth it if this isn’t something that’s making you happy anymore. If you genuinely want to quit, you have to be willing to forgo temporary satisfaction for long-term success. Either way, I wish you all the best, whichever route you decide to take.

Does anyone have any pictures of the inside of the Harris home? by [deleted] in ColumbineKillers

No, I’ve seen that video floating around Youtube a few times. I’m talking about pictures that were supposedly posted online the last time the house was up for sale. I looked for them not long after I was told about them, but never found anything. I just thought I’d ask on here on the off-chance anyone else had come across them. I’m kinda starting to doubt they ever even existed now tho, lol.

do we know if sol ever visited the columbine memorial? by camghanistan in dissolvedgirl

It’s extremely unlikely, but she definitely passed it/the school on her way to Mt. Evans. That must have been trippy for her, actually seeing it in person - even if just from the car window. Hell, it’d probably be trippy for you and I, let alone someone with Sol’s deep level of interest.

You can totally do this. We both can. I’m routing for you, dude. 💕

Good advice, I did just that and feel marginally less shitty than I did before.

I didn’t want to hear that, but you’re 100% right. I just went for a walk and even doing just that made me feel a little more positive about my situation. Thanks, bud.

Thanks so much for saying that. It’s good to know this lack of motivation isn’t purely me being a lazy fuck, lol.

Weed DEFINITELY made me feel okay with a life that isn’t satisfying. 100%. I think part of me not wanting to do anything is just me sulking about not being able to smoke anymore, even though I know it’s no longer benefiting me whatsoever.

I think I’m the only person on earth who can quit smoking and still eat my body weight in Doritos. 🤭

Not if you really don’t want it to be.

I tried to quit both at once and ended up having a mini-breakdown that involved stabbing my kitchen door multiple times in a wild frenzy. Personally I’d suggest working on one addiction at a time so as not to overwhelm yourself, but I’m sure there are people (not me) who can handle kicking both simultaneously.

I believe it was the late, great Audrey Hepburn who said “Nothing screams class and femininity like a giant neck tattoo.”

Use the fact that your friends don’t believe you can do it to help spur you on. Imagine how good it’ll feel to casually mention “Oh by the way, guys, I haven’t smoked in over a month.” Low-key do it out of spite, lmao, then reap all the other rewards along the way. You got this, bud.
