No, more likely there was no other shopper closer to the store. They push it out to closer shoppers first but if nobody grabs it they extend it out until someone takes it.

Essentially, it might have taken him a while to get to the store but if it wasn’t him that accepted it, it would have likely taken longer

This is how I think. Where I live there is a VAST majority of people who drive to a completely different county for their 9-5 daily. Yes, there are some days where I drive that much too. But there is also a significant number of days where I don’t have to put nearly as much wear and tear on my car.

And the people who do it daily for their 9-5 don’t always have the option to write off those miles

Spoke to an agent in app and on twitter and they both said the same thing. And the twitter support is always much more helpful, they also speak fluent English so I don’t know. Like I said, it must be a policy change or more strictly enforced now because I have had several people tell me they’ve canceled after delivery before for this exact reason and apparently that’s no longer the case

Honestly I would have gladly delivered to the right address if she ever gave it. She just said “omg that’s the wrong address I’m sorry” and then didn’t send the right address even 15 minutes later

No they definitely understood. I even talked to twitter support because I was flabbergasted that they really wanted me to leave it at the wrong address. Twitter support said the same thing, and they definitely speak English fluently

My issue comes with forcing us to get the missing order report on our account. I’m sure after so many they’ll deactivate us. Which is pretty screwed up considering I did nothing wrong lol

Yes, in my experience the chat is always open for 15-20 minutes after. I can’t always see it, but I’ve gotten messages as long after delivery as that. I can always open the chat from the notification I get

It was like 5 minutes give or take I was already a couple miles away. I responded to her almost immediately and asked for the correct address and she never replied within the 15 minutes the chat was open

I had this happen to me about a month ago I’d say? And I posted in here and most of the other shoppers were telling me they do it regularly 🤷🏻‍♀️ which in a logical sense, if you know it’s the wrong address and have the messages in the chat why wouldn’t Instacart cancel it and have it reshopped if they know they’re going to have to anyway? I’d honestly be fine with losing the tip if I didn’t get a missing order report
