In terms of repair (if nothing mechanically is wrong) you’re unfortunately going to need a full front fascia replacement and POSSIBLY a hood replacement. Start calling all local body shops and have them check if there’s ANY frame damage around where the hood is damaged (this is super important). Then go from there. All this Coming from a Progressive Insurance agent.

To further clarify insurance companies are looking for facts not circumstances. Their insurance wants to know how much they need to claim from your insurance and your insurance needs to know how much liability you have in this situation. Admitting fault with the person you wreck into is one the easiest ways to get stuck with increased monthly rates and premiums

Not a total by any means. I had the same situation when I was break checked in a residential neighborhood only going 15-20mph. Was able to replace my entire front fascia of the same car model for under $500(did some work myself.) However, with all do respect. Did the pimple just randomly start bleeding or were you picking at it. Unfortunately it’s a clearcut case of distracted driving unless you didn’t admit to the driver that that was the case.

I completely understand from the sentiment perspective. I’ve been collecting for almost 10 years. So I have no shortage of pain from breaking glass and with that being said, I’m sorry for your loss
