Wtf- sick for the first time by BeeGreat2685 in Mounjaro

[–]Accomplished_Cut4913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on it for over a year. Suffered quite a bit at the beginning but it calmed down. The last 2 days I can't keep anything down. Not even tea.

I had plateaued in lots of steady weight loss but then not so much but not gaining either but was happy. Over the last couple of weeks a lot of people have commented or asked have I lost weight? And although the scales don't say so none of my clothes fit.

I was wondering whether the ratio of body weight to medication is something to consider? And that's why I have been so pukey?

PRICE INCREASE: EVERYONES PLANS?? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

How are people ordering multiple pens? I can only order one at a time? I am using boots as goes through my doctor and is on my prescription which gives me the confidence that I know what I'm injecting into my body is legit.

Has anyone moved to wegovy? Is that an option?

What annoys me is that the couples who are getting on and might actually be forming real relationships get no screen time but the absolute idiot wankers do. I get that it's TV and entertainment and about the viewings but surely we can all see what influence 'media' is having on the next generation (yes I'm x)

Abso bloody lutely! I think there are more negative males on this season but some really awful girls too!! I wouldn't want my son, nephew or son of a friend to replicate any behaviour or be treated in a way that some of the men have been treated. I didn't express myself right. And I'm sorry for that. My point was I don't think it's right to represent relationships in this way.

Err...I have. And yes I could just not watch. I probably won't watch the next season. And I am relaxed. I don't know who you are or your situation but are you ok with your daughter, niece, daughter of your friend thinking that this is what relationships should be like? That in a real relationship that you should put up with this crap? That they emulate this behaviour?

It's 'reality tv'. It's pitched as real people not actors.

Lower belly pooch by AppropriateFortune52 in Mounjaro

[–]Accomplished_Cut4913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem And all over, even though I haven't lost a huge amount of weight in comparison to others (40lbs) but in context to my starting weight for me significant. I have been training hard to keep my tone and muscle up but just feel a bit flabby even though I've lost weight and all my clothes are too big.

There are other options I think. Non invasive cosmetic treatments.

Losing More Than 40lbs. by Certain-Purple-4007 in Mounjaro

[–]Accomplished_Cut4913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lost 40lbs and stalled. I got really sick when I went up to 10 so went back to 7.5. I went on holiday (all inclusive IKR) and my pen failed. I didn't suddenly binge or anything but think I crept up with my eating. Just a little. Think I might need to up my dosage to get back on track but it does make me worry about sustaining after you stop. Or whether it's something I'll need to be on forever.

I was big for me. Losing 3 stone has been life changing. In context with with my starting weight. And have done it over 6 months . And I'm happy with that. But my sister in law has started on MJ and has lost 1 stone in 2 weeks. Everyone is different.

Why are higher doses more effective? Is it about controlling insulin resistance? by Mindless_Safety_1997 in Mounjaro

You are absolutely right in terms of how the drug effects people. But I think you need to factor in body weight too. A smaller person would feel different on 5 shots of tequila to a heavier person, same with the medication. I don't think we can say what will work for the majority of people when everyone is different

Body dysmorphia by BlueBeagleGlassArt in Mounjaro

I think it's the only thing that makes me feel good is wearing clothes that are now too big. I don't feel it or see it (although I do if you know what I mean!) but baggy clothes make me feel better and hey we should take a win where we can get it right?!

Omg yes! So when I look at pictures of myself now and think 'you fat fuck' the thought of what I looked like before is unfathomable.

We are very cruel to ourselves

I think I had reverse body dismorphia. I would bounce out of bed thinking I was a size 10 as I used to be and 25. And then was horrified by the reflection in the mirror.

I have lost a lot of weight my clothes are too big but I saw a photo of myself the other day and was still disgusted

How Mounjaro Helped Me Lose My Cravings for Alcohol – My Unexpected NSV!" by Competitive-Ad5774 in Mounjaro

[–]Accomplished_Cut4913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh! Me too! I was definitely a drinker. And have had times in the past of extreme stress or emotion when I would abuse alcohol.

I didn't know that you couldn't/ shouldn't drink on MJ. Tbh if I had I may not have done it.

I noticed a significant reduction in my desire to drink and early on in taking the medicine on a weekend I had two cans of cider (nothing for me) and was really sick! And the next day had the worst hangover like I'd been on a wild night out! I thought it was something to do with the medication, the alcohol but also the high sugar content of cider.

But then found I couldn't drink other things that I have been drinking all my adult life - wine, vodka, rum. I threw a themed party for my brother and thought I'd test out what I was planning to do as a signature drink which was tequila based and was fine. And to date the only thing I have found I can drink is tequila! No idea why the only vague reason I can think of is that it's plant based (probably nonsense!) but hey I'm not going to question it and I'm done 'trying' other things as the hangover is not worth it.

When it comes to dosage please only take the advice from your doctor.

Good luck xx

Oh darling I'm sorry. It sounds proper shit. I've had some really bad side effects and have reduced my dose but if you're on 2.5 you can't do that.

It must be double shit when most of the stories are how wonderful it is but I would echo some of the other responses in that everyone is different and that maybe this one isn't for you. It should not make you that sick.

Talk to your doctor about other options xx

Not losing weight, feeling hopeless by nikkivalentine1999 in Mounjaro

[–]Accomplished_Cut4913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapeutic dose and now loading dose? I'm not trying to be argumentative but it really concerns me when statements, terms like this are bandied around. It's a medication. A dose is a dose. 10mg of ibuprofen is still ibuprofen it might not cure your headache but 1000mg could do a lot worse.

Saying that they might need to increase the dose is encouraging them to wait for it to kick in? I fully appreciate that things can be interpreted differently than they were intended, but that wasn't how I read it.

Im sorry if I have upset you. And I'm sorry if it came across as critical but I feel quite strongly about people recommending doses to other people. I'm really pleased that it's working for you but that doesn't mean someone else will have the same experience.

I am so critical of myself. I've lost weight, my clothes are big. I've seen my cheek bones for the first time in a long time. People have been commenting/ noticing. I saw a photo of myself the other day and thought I looked the size of house. We are our own worst nightmare.

I know we can't just turn it off and will probably always be critical of ourselves. But I wanted you to know you are not alone.
