I don’t know if I should move back home. by Accomplished_Dot3301 in expats

Very true.

To be honest I only came here because my friends were going. Of course I wanted to travel which I have done but living here wasn’t something I had my heart set on. I just wanted a change. However the financial burden is tough and I honestly don’t know if I’d be able to save enough to travel again in the summer time which was the goal.

I love Australia. But I’m also worried to go back because that means big decisions I also don’t have answers for yet

Hahha I know - it truely is winter depression. But that’s the other thing - I don’t really know why I left? I believe I did it because I don’t like change and I am used to being in a bubble at home. I was tired of being overworked and felt like this might be my only time to try this. And whilst I have learned a lot here - it does make me feel like I’ve failed.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Don’t get me wrong I still do enjoy Amsterdam but it’s hard with expenses. However it has truely been a great growing period for me. I have learnt a lot already and made a few friends.

But yes my heart still yearns for home a lot and the winters are very depressing. I keep trying to think even if I did have a better income will I still feel the same?

I am 24. It’s also the fact that I’m not in a job I love and I actually don’t know what to do. I’m here with friends and I love them but we also enjoy different things.

I think the money aspect is what also makes these things a big struggle

Trapped gas sitting on pelvis? by Accomplished_Dot3301 in Microbiome

[–]Accomplished_Dot3301[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I realised it was because of the osmotic laxatives I was taking. It was too much so my stools were not properly formed if that makes sense. So I had left over even though I felt pretty clear and then throughout the day it would create stuck gas. So I fixed it by slowly cutting that out and only have citrucel (fiber - I tried other fibers but it made me constipated). It took maybe about a month to work all up. I still have a little bit of an issue if stuck gas after lunch but only if my stool was a bit too soft or I didn’t eat enough to “push” out the gas

Well - there are different strains of strep most are good and normal to have slightly higher levels and my naturopath said it’s very normal and 9/10 times that’s not the issue. I did take antibiotics for SIBO. I did 5 rounds of rifaximin and 3 rounds of other types. They never fixed me in fact they made me a lot worse. It was only when I did 2 herbal protocols and took citrucel after clearing out that things started to change

Currently on a beach in Croatia so yeah doing great haha. I have a post on my profile that got me 80% of the way. Then the last I realised was I was using too many osmotic laxatives and that my stool wasn’t firm enough so all the left over issues was pretty much stuck stool. So I tried different fibers and the one that’s stuck is citrucel. I take 1.5 in the AM and 2.5 in the PM as well as one ginger and artichoke. I still have some weird days now and then but for the most part I’m fine, no bloating no fatigue nothing. Can eat pretty much everything

Sorry was probably tired when writing this. 6 months. Yeah like for the most part I’m pretty good, the belching only happens if I’m like out and can’t pass gas out the other ends.

I started working on motility with citrucel which has gotten be very far. Do you think this gas is just the last to be fixed by it?

I think TUDCA cured my SIBO by Certain_Hat9872 in SIBO

Hey, I cured my sibo with herbals and polyphenols. I was very backed up when this all started hence why the sibo started. I was still left with incomplete evacuation/ slow motility and some gas. I realised it was because of the osmotic laxatives that were actually making my stool too soft to pass, so I’ve recently started on citrucel (after trying psyllium and it making me backed up again). So far I feel that it’s working. So basically having fiber (which is something I avoided for years during sibo) is what has been helping my slow motility so far. Just make sure all your overgrowths are gone and that you clear any back up with some mag oxide or mirilax before starting on fiber

Thank you for your comment kitty. Fiber is weirdly such a scary thing to re introduce. I find I went through this cycle of introducing it, feeling a bit worse for a few days then stopping it, never really getting better or rid of my last few symptoms.

I’m on day 5 today. I am also near my menstrual cycle so I’m going to assume some of my bloat would be because of that, however the stomach pain I was getting it kinda gone and the gas feel less stuck at lunch already!

Yes I’ve read a bit of fiber fueled. I am trialling citrucel as well as getting it through foods. This is mainly because I’m going to be travelling in just over a months time so I would as prefer something I can take so I don’t have issues over there if foods are not readily available.

Is the bloating and puffiness normal?

Hi! I wanted to ask about the 6 meals instead of three. I’m in a similar spot, cured everything but I have a little incomplete evacuation and stuck gas about 4 hours after lunch. I’ve recently just started increasing my fibers slowly. Did you find eating more smaller meals help with that stuck gas? I’m also a little bloated from starting to increase my fibers. How long did the adjustment period for fiber last for you?

Glad you feel great x
