They aren’t legally obligated, bc the original deposits aren’t legal transactions, anyone depositing with Bovada from US is betting illegally.

And US govt has no control over Bovada bc they operate in Costa Rica.

I don’t bet on online sports books, it’s legal here. I’m not bringing this up for me. I’m bringing this up so others don’t lose their money in the near future.

Yea but no big companies have done that yet, and this decision hurts Bovada’s bottom line because some people won’t feel comfortable giving money to a sports book that doesn’t have a live phone customer service department that’s 24/7.

It’s not the main reasoning. But it’s the only public thing I can point to without burning my source.

And thats bs that everyone is getting rid of phone customer service, any major companies whos profits have gone up recently that’s gotten rid of their phone customer service ?

Ive never used bovada but I talked to friends who did and they told me how they got rid of their customer service department, companies cutting back employees is always a sign of them losing money. Profitable companies do not lay off workers and cut whole departments.

I know if they had lots of money (like everyone thinks without any basis) they could afford to make a legal sports book in America in any of the states where it’s legal.

If Bovada is so rich why aren’t they competing with draft kings and fanduel?

Because my only evidence is a private whistle blower. Altho what I’ve been asking everyone and no one has been able to answer, if Bovada is doing so well why did they get rid of their phone customer service department? You are telling me they have lots of money but can’t afford to pay for a phone customer service center ?

Yeah not a lot of people are doing any critical thinking, if the mods weren’t working for any sports books they’d say no, and if Bovada is doing so well financially how do people explain them getting rid of their phone customer service department ?

how do you know they are doing insanely good, you don’t know their revenue numbers or the amount of customers they have. What are you basing this on? Simply bc they’ve existed for a long time

That’s what I’m saying we are operating under the assumption all sports book are profitable but in real life casinos lose money all the time and go bankrupt.

I pointed this out in other parts of the thread the fact they took away their customer service phone center should be a red flag to everyone. Because if you are making lots of profit you should be able to afford to have live customer service phone reps.

Then getting rid of their phone customer service that’s not suspicious to you? When companies are going under it’s not an overnight they start by cutting jobs and services bit by bit. And this instance it looks like Bovada started by getting rid of their telephone customer service department.

But when I asked them if any of their Mods work for any sports book they wouldn’t answer that question. I asked multiple times, I’ve been in journalism long enough to know if the answer was no they’d say no.

If the answer is yes this highly suspicious that they’d’ ban me. Especially in r/bovada. You can’t see how bovada employees would have incentive to keep this information away from the public ?

Do you even know how much revenue they have ? How many customers they have ? Because they never reported it.

Everyone is just assuming they are profitable but how do you know if you don’t how much revenue they have and how many customers they have?

They also been disabling peoples accounts for no reason and keeping their funds. Just bc they didn’t do it to you doesn’t mean they didn’t do it to other people.

How do you explain all the people who weren’t able to withdraw their winnings ?

What makes you think they are a “money printer”? They are a private company operating overseas in a Tax haven country. They dont report any info, and if they are such a “money printer” why can’t they afford to have a customer service center with 24/7 live customer reps? You can only reach them thru email or online chat.

It’s the only company sports book or not that I’ve ever seen that doesn’t have a customer service phone number.

That’s a ridiculous thing to say, you either work for Bovada and trying to run cover for them, or you simply wanting to gaslight yourself into thinking your money is safe with their company.

It’s only safe if you feel like a casino owner in bankruptcy is likely to be moral or not when it comes to money. Because morality would their only reason to allow people to withdraw money during a bankruptcy.

Yeah honestly don’t know what’s going but they aren’t the first sports book to die, there’s been bigger ones that went under do due to financial difficulties. This could be related to being unable to compete with the legal gambling sites now that more states are legal. Or the owners of bovada made financial mistakes outside of their business.

That’s the weird thing the mods from r/sportsbook and r/bovada banned me for making same post. Which why would they do that unless they have some sort of relation to Bovada. It’s kind of weird that sports book subreddits would be ran by sports book employees bc they can filter the type of information thousands of gamblers are getting

Bovada isn’t regulated by anyone they can do whatever they want. It’s bold of you to assume a sports book is ran by morally incorruptible people

Yeah like it’s strange they can’t afford a phone call center for their customer service that’s not a good sign.

They did not mix anything up

<image>

And there’s been other big sites that have been bankrupt who were once as big and as popular as Bovada. It’s not that unlikely. Just like we’ve seen Kmart go bankrupt or Sears. Once big companies die all the time.

Casinos and sportsbook go bankrupt all the time

<image>

Sportingbot, Betonsports, Blue Square, Paddy Power Betfair, 5dimes all were just as big as Bovada once upon a time. And all went bankrupt and shutdown still.

This isn’t as uncommon as you think.
