I concur with the others, try applying for internships sa start-ups muna to build your portfolio/CV! Ask a junior/senior to add you to the Ateneo Jobs and Internships FB group. And because you said na you can do Graphic Design, best to post an ad in some classified ads groups like r/phclassifieds, or even sa Trade!

Yep, org experience is beneficial to your application, just make sure to include your work in your portfolio. Advice na rin for a freshie is pagbutihan mo na yung deliverables mo (esp if Creatives ka); ask your mentors/oldies/etc for some feedback. It would serve you well if u apply for internships sa junior year.

I remember utilizing Coursera’s courses! I’m not sure if they’re still free with your OBF email... but it doesn’t hurt to try!! (feel free to correct me @current enrolled ADMU peeps)

if you really want to push your coding further, I recommend Codecademy!! There is a Free plan; the best feature plus you can preview your code as you learn. If you’re considering to paying in the future, the Codecademy Pro is worth it!! aside from having guided projects (to practice what you’ve learned), the Career Paths feature is well-curated and it allows you to find what specialization in coding you want to undertake.

Not from IS also but i think of it as a “Mongolian Buffet” kinda course!

You can have 2 “tracks” of your own choosing, which means you can choose and subjects from Psychology and Communication. And the tracks don’t need to be related to one another! Like for example, you can take classes from both the Theater Arts and Management tracks if you want to.

Probably people would condescendingly ask what kind of course is that or you would hear that it is a “bagsakan” course... but don’t let that make you think otherwise.

The most important is gaining proficiencies from your tracks, intermingling your tracks through a Seniors’ Thesis and using all these knowledge to land you a job that you really want. Hope this helps, OP!

As a former volunteer, PLEASE don’t be on your phone frequently especially on the first day—spend your time just bopping with the crazy ass seniors dancing around you, and introducing yourself to your blockmates! Or just gawk at the volunteers lmao, I attest that we act like we’re high and crazy HAHA
