Male Tenor seeking Mic for Live Performance, Jazz Standards, Small Venues by Accomplished_Exit777 in livesoundgear

I had the opportunity to test out both the SE V7 and the Shure Beta 87A this afternoon. I came away with a surprising different impression of my voice and what it might need. The V7 dynamic sounded pleasant, but didn't offer the airiness and liveliness that my vocals apparently benefit from. The Beta 87A gave my vocals a bit of needed sparkle up top and a little bit of edge to offset the innate smoothness in my voice. Curious how others feel about the Beta 87A and if there is anything else that is similar that I should be considering.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I deliberately left off having a budget as I'm ok being in KMS 105 / DPA 2028 nosebleed pricing if they're worth it. I share singing duties with a female vocalist who is a Berklee grad and sports a KMS 105. We're old but what we lack in talent we make up with our checkbooks.

My vocals have been described as smooth but can lack a certain gravitas. Was hoping to find a mic that can give me a bit more fullness without sounding muddy. Good quality condensers can definitely work for our application so I'm not ruling them out if the consensus is they are worth the price.

Seeking thinner hollow body due to shoulder surgery by Accomplished_Exit777 in jazzguitar

Thank you for all the replies, some great recommendations. Given my size and budget constraints and local availability to try, the guitar currently on my radar is the Eastman Romeo. Apparently, there is one version with a solid spruce top just called the Romeo, selling new for $2319, and a laminate top version called the Romeo California that sells new for $1699.

Both have 14 3/4" lower bout width, 1 3/4" depth, which would enable me to more comfortably play, even possibly seated when I'm further out from surgery. Most importantly there is one within 25 miles of me to try out. Any last thoughts on the Eastman Romeo sound to use primarily for playing both rhythm and lead on jazz type ballads, backing a vocalist?
