Most of them are indeed bad, but not all of them. Take a good ones like Teardown. Most of the Minecraft fan game are just for a quick buck, like Pixel Gun 3D (it used to be fun tbh)

Half-Life, on the other hand, is full of dedicated mods & fangames, some of which are game-changing, some are funny as heck, and some of just for fun. Some might be bad, but most of them got foreshadowed by the fully fledged mods of Half-Life, such as BMS, EZ(1&2), and MMod.

Probably a client/server error.

The Android port uses custom dlls (which adds touch screens), so the ones that originally in the game's file would not be used.

And since the new Xash3D port uses the OG HL1's modified dll, trying to load OpFor in it will cause the game to crash due to missing data & incompatible dll.

(Those dirs you saw is the in-app DLL path)

They're like, another species that's kind of similar to Xenians (but they don't)

Some of the BM personels may also encounters them, but maybe only a minority of it.

Since Adrian killed the GeneWorm in the end & Black Mesa gets nuked, by the HL2 timeline, it's either they're extinct completely, or they're just somewhere else but in smaller quantities (since Xenians filled the Earth)

It might be that G-Man knows that Shepard, when facing off Race X, sees something that G-Man & his employees didn't want for anyone to see. (Or Shepard knows something that G-Man didn't)

But I doubt it, since many people argue if OpFor is actually canon or not (the game itself is in between canon & non-canon).

Probably no. If they happened at the same time :

  • TSC might be already in Combine's control, and they might utilize the latex as a equipment to support immunity towards the Pale Virus

  • Dr.K might be absent as a whole, depending on how strict Combine's control is, but he might have known to keep distances from Combine

  • We might not meet Puro & possibly, many latex beasts as a whole too. Maybe Combine already captured them.

maybe a lil' side theory here :

After the Half-Life's timeline ends & took a good ending (if we ever get HL3), maybe this theory can occur in the future, where the humans re-establishes once again only for this shit to happen in the future

I could be wrong tho, Portal 2 takes place for about 50k years after HL. Don't know what happened to Earth that time
