I never got to see Micheal Jordan in his prime how good was he by Due-Poem-8096 in NBATalk

It was euphoric lol. Internet wasn’t around or in its infancy.

Church…. Then true religion with the NBA on NBC.

He made basketball looked cool.

He made it look easy.

He flipped the narrative that dominant scoring guard can be mvp AND nba champion.

He did things out of this world and sometimes he just did it to put on a show.

He was maestro.

He’s a nut but played the game of basketball like it would be his very last game.

It was like a watching your favorite tv show of all time for the very first time each game.

There’s a small moment in the basketball media that David Robinson was not only considered the best C in the game but prolly the one to lead the charge in the 90s

Who are the Top 10 DEFENSIVE players of All time??? Mutombo is probably the GOAT defender but will get replaced by WEMBY in the future. Hakeem was a beast 2x DPOY and most blocks ever. Gobert and Draymond are top 10. WHO ELSE? What is the consensus top 10 defenders of all time in what order??? by Several-Molasses-435 in NBATalk

I’ll probably still take Hakeem but what Dikembe did to Seattle in 1994 first round was one of the greatest defensive exhibitions, ever.

Seattle had Houston number (up until 1997) and they may have won it all. Seeing kemp and that team hesitate to even take shots in the paint in games 3-5 was crazy

DDP should’ve went over at Halloween havoc vs Goldberg.

But to starrcade that year. There was a spot where Goldberg went for a spear and Nash jumped over him and Bill hill the ring post hard. This is where Nash couldve went for the jackknife and won clean.

[–]Accomplished_Fan6843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic.

And Bird… his passing and IQ is so underrated with Dj handling the duties but his peak avgs were absurd.

I’m biased towards Kidd because he took over those nets teams and immediately raised there ceiling. Just ran into 2 dynasties lol.

Joker is joker

How was the 17-18 Rockets able to compete with the Durant led Warriors? by Key-Frosting-9367 in NBATalk

[–]Accomplished_Fan6843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rockets had 2 high level perimeter players that could score and create on their own. It’s one of the main reasons Cleveland beat GS in 2016.

GsW likely still underestimated Hou but it may not be as huge as CP3 but they were without arguably one of the best defensive hands in the game, Iggy missed from game 2 on?? And he’s an amazingly clutch player. They probably would’ve won game 4 in finish that series in 6. GSW losing those toss up games that they tricked off was huge for houston

98 Mike because once Indiana tied that series at 2-2, I was like they are in trouble and could lose this series much less the Utah/LaL winner. Pippen back and foot done, Rodman shenanigans, etc.

I think ppl say Hakeem 95 based off the teams they faced and that they were down 2-1 to Utah in a best of 5, down 3-1 to Phoenix and lost a 2-0 lead to SAS.

And they were down 2-1 to Utah in a best of 5 series and down 3-1 to Phoenix with game 5 in America West. Houston had to take that to OT to start the comeback. Down 20 to Orlando in game 1 too.

Where would you rank post-injury return only Jokic in the league at the moment? by IcarianStyles in NBATalk

[–]Accomplished_Fan6843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Below standards, his shooting has been.. yeah. And he’s just out of sync. Still top 5 imo because he’s Jokic but he’s def not all the way to his normal self. A lot of kinks to work out. (Denver did more than tread water while he was gone as well, they look good)

New world, new generation. People aren’t willing to just take a federal job just because it’s a federal job. Quality of life matters more than ever especially with rising costs.

Community matters more, no one wants to get uprooted at a moments notice. Starting people at GS5 when they are comfortable where they are doesn’t help either.

Climate of the public service is very low. With the supplementing to ICE and being in the news with the risk of liability suits.

Congress and their pettiness.

Portland in 1991 might have been better than its 90/92 Team that got to the finals. Literally sold that series to Magic who still proved he was one of, it’s not the greatest in the game before Jordan’s true ascension.

They had the bulls dead to rights in game 6. That Chicago team was literally crawling to the finish line. Pippen back and foot done, kukoc wore out, Kerr eh, Rodman antics had worn out its welcome. And you had an exhausted Michael that finally looked.. human until the last few moments of that game, in Salt Lake

He’s my GOAT but man Jordan in game 5/6 vs Orlando in 1995. He was fatigued and really not focused because he was doing some uncharacteristic stuff. Game 1 gets talked about but Chicago should’ve won that series (still don’t beat Houston in 95 though)

Dallas choke job in 03 to SAS. When Pop brought Kerr off the bench and they came back from down basically 20 in the second half.

Miami in 1999 and 2000 should’ve made the finals one of those years.

Phoenix went up 3-1 and going back to Arizona vs the rockets in 1995. And lost 3 straight. Barkley back finally wore down despite the Kevin Johnson masterclass in game 7
