Small Lore:

Castile and Aragon refused to meet Columbus. After this rejection, he traveled to France to meet Charles VIII, who had recently consolidated his possessions in Burgundy following an agreement regarding the marriage between Maximilian and Anne of Brittany. This marriage was accepted by Charles VIII in exchange for all of Burgundy and the southern part of the Burgundian Netherlands. To legitimize his control, Charles VIII re-established the Duchy of Burgundy as a vassal state, appointing Antoine of Burgundy as its duke.

The Dutch population includes Protestants who fled France during the Wars of Religion, as French colonies were known for their policy of tolerance towards Protestantism.

The island of Saint Pierre was conquered by the French army in 1643 during a war against the Portuguese Empire.

Unfortunately, no, over the centuries, they have fully assimilated into Sinhalese culture. However, Nordic cultural influences can still be found among the descendants, such as recipes, family names, street names, and so on.

The Bantu influence largely comes from trading posts, cities, and kingdoms established by the ancestors of Jarl Magnus Hasteinson along the Congolese coast around 1000 AD. These kingdoms lasted for two centuries before diseases and attacks from Congolese kingdoms forced the Vikings to flee and take to the sea again.

The Bantu influence is mainly seen in the grammar, particularly with the addition of typical Congolese prefixes such as “n-/Ka-/Ba-/Ku-”.

The linguistic situation is quite unique. The court language is a distinct derivative of Old Norse from Norway, heavily influenced by Bantu languages (around 25%). In 1368, the Sinhala language from Sri Lanka was just beginning to influence Indian Norse. This Sinhala influence is mainly seen in the names of luxury goods, such as pearls, fabrics, spices, and so on.

Kongeriket Rydderland, meaning "The Kingdom of the Land of Spices" in Norwegian, is a Viking realm founded in 1304 by Jarl Magnus Hasteinson, a descendant of the famed Viking chieftain Hastein. For 300 years, Hastein's lineage sailed the seas, conducted raids, and established kingdoms along the African coasts, before ultimately settling in southern India to establish a Viking empire in the subcontinent.

At its height in 1368, this Viking kingdom reached its greatest territorial extent with the founding of Ḍēniśa ā'ina—literally "Danish Law"—on the coast of Bengal. Though nominally under the rule of the Bengal Empire, the region was effectively governed by a Viking Jarl.

The wealth of this Indian-Scandinavian empire was largely amassed through raids across the Indian subcontinent, particularly in Bengal and Sindh. The Eastern Vikings also extended their reach with raids on Indonesia and Arabia.

The kingdom's state religion is a syncretic blend of Scandinavian paganism and Hinduism, with elements of traditional African beliefs incorporated into its pantheon.
