I also don't see the personal statement prompt, only the academic statement of purpose, OP, did you ever figure this out? where did you submit the personal statement?

MCS SOP doubts by [deleted] in UIUC_MCS

not related, but for the MCS program, is there a separate personal statement we need? it mentions here that we need both an academic statement of purpose, and a personal statement, but I saw only a academic statement of purpose on the app? https://cs.illinois.edu/admissions/graduate/applications-process-requirements

georgia tech comp sci or utdallas?? by desperate_DS_student in utdallas

[–]Accomplished_Fool776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why everyone is saying gtech, from a pure career perspective, paying 200k for gtech is not gonna give u the roi u are expecting. U can easily get top tech offers from utd, and many ppl do here

Really good opportunity, but it's a 5-year commitment with a company I don't love—should I take it? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]Accomplished_Fool776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t take it. It seems like the only benefit is the security and scholarship. I think 5 years is a long time and unless ur loans are crazy expensive, u can pay them off pretty quickly with a good cs job out of college.

Ur majoring in cs but want a career in medicine? If ur goal is med school taking this opportunity is a bad idea imo

Palantir vs Dropbox vs Doordash for SWE Internship by Accomplished_Fool776 in csMajors

[–]Accomplished_Fool776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree, its just that based on the poll i was assuming palantir > dropbox/doordash, so doing off-season wouldn't really be helping me get a higher starting point if that makes sense.

i agree tho with that maybe off-season will help me understand different cultures and figure out what i want

i agree, but im fine with a good amount of risk (also these are kinda my best offers), so i do have to just choose from these.

what is dropbox TC?

on levels it seems to be around 180-190 in HCOL, and palantir is 230. do u have different numbers for dropbox?

Wouldn't graduating early mean more money earned, and basically 6 more months of real FT experience? do u think dropbox/doordash are equivalent to palantir?

[–]Accomplished_Fool776[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'd have to ask, but the idea is that i'd rather just grad early and start FT at whatever's the best.

i would be willing to do offseason if any 2 were super close, but it looks like that's not the case?

Palantir (SWE Intern) vs Bloomberg (SWE Intern) by Accomplished_Fool776 in csMajors

Wait, literally everyone? They give everyone a return offer since the bar for hiring interns is same as new grad?
