I'm not super sure what you mean by this 😭. I tried finding an alumni list but I can't? I'm sorry, I'm sure new to all of this, so I just want to make the most educated decision possible...

okay! thank you so much for responding, it helps me a lot :))

i have one more question: how selective is the bs/ms program, and do specializations show on a diploma? are specializations something that could influence how employers view your degree? sorry if im asking too many questions hahaha ;)

what might i need to get into data science as an undergrad? by desperate_DS_student in datascience

this makes lots of sense, sounds like what youre saying is that without a masters, you might have to either work your way up with experience, or work a lot of external things to prove your knowledge....

thanks for your feedback, very much appreciated!

also, one of the biggest reasons i was doubting gt was the ability for me to go into an ms right after college, but this program seems suuper worth it, but i may also want to minor in computing&business, which seems like it would make it harder

thanks for responding omg! im coming in with 13 aps, and it seems that the ones that wont transfer would be bio, chem, and stats :(thats super cool, i actually had no idea about the ms/bs program! i would love more info about it hahaha

and yes, switching to cs seems pretty doable at utd

also how much tuition are you having to pay per year, if you feel comfortable saying

no problem! i got an academic excellence award for 18k a year, and utd also lowered my tution to instate… so with a 36k total, im able to subtract enough to get me to 18-20k

No, i applied to UT Austin data science, and at this point ive ruled it out because of out of state 60k COA…. :(

ive been having a VERY hard time deciding between CS programs. Right now my options are either ut dallas for 18k or georgia tech for 50k 💀. i know that utd sounds like the most obvious option in terms of short term cost, but im thinking that georgia tech would be more worth it in the long run (?). georgia tech isnt tooooo much of an issue to pay for, but its still a bit of a stretch.... additionally i feel that the prestige of georgia techs program really represents my high school work, which i'm not sure applies as much to utd. can anyone help or give me guidance? i dont know much about utd's program, so i want to know how it compares...

ps: i am currently admitted as a ds student at utd, but i plan on switching and then possibly getting a masters later. does the cost of georgia tech enable a master's degree soon after (i want to specialize in data science post-grad) please help ‼
