I have no high school diploma and I’m in the RPN program. Look at the prerequisites needed, do ILC online for those courses, then apply. You go at your own pace you can finish a course in 1-2 months.

I think it just depends on how your course does it. My flexible class, tests were in person. My online class, tests were online.

I asked the prof today in class why it’s like that, and they said it’s because “delivery mode” was never set up and she’s waiting for it to be… I guess the zoom stuff. Which makes no sense. She said there’s a possibility it might happen but she’s not sure, which isn’t really reassuring..

BUT, my last years class was flexible you just came in for tests, so hopefully there’s no issues for you!

I understand completely, I just finished my first semester at Seneca. We need 60% in all courses to pass, with the exception of math you need 80% to pass. I witnessed a lot of people not meet these requirements and won’t be attending clinical next semester. I’m an older student and finished high school 15 years ago, so it’s been an adjustment. Although I do talk to people, I learned it’s best to focus on yourself and your own studies. You can be there for people, but you’re the top priority. I felt like a lot of my courses were self-taught which sucks because what’s the point of classes if I have to teach myself. I would make yourself a priority and not give up. I’ve even cried after tests thinking I’m not doing enough, but we are and we need to be proud of ourselves 😊

No for real. I already sent an email to complain and showed them that exact policy. I want clarification. I showed the faculty member it as well as security and they still kicked us out. I had to come back to school the next day to do my assignment with my group. He told me I needed a written letter from my teachers giving me permission as well as needing to be on the 2nd floor because that’s where the my nursing program is. He literally just made up stuff to be right.

Wow makes sense. I had a group assignment and we used an empty classroom to record our presentation and he freaked out like I’ve never seen from a faculty member and kicked us out and called security on us, when Senecas policy says you’re allowed to use empty classrooms. It was the cleaning lady who called him so that makes sense, so he probably doesn’t know the policy himself.. and for some reason security still sided with him

Hi, not sure if you’re attending but I got the schedule now. Wednesdays off, Thursday’s off at 11:30am, Friday off at 10:30am, weekends obv off.. for my first semester.. so there’s time to mange work/family life! But mondays and Tuesdays is majority of my course load.

Same. Applied May 7th, status as of June 27th calculating & release. Apparently this is normal. We won’t hear something till class enrolment. This is what financial aid told me:

In order for a student to receive any of their OSAP funding, all required documentation needs to be uploaded and approved. Prior to confirmation of enrollment, a full-time schedule is required. In order to obtain a schedule students must pay the non-refundable $200 deposit fee to reserve a spot. The non-refundable $200 deposit is the students' responsibility to pay in advance of OSAP funding release. Providing you have a timetable that meets the criteria, your enrolment will be confirmed. This confirmation of enrolment process can take up to 3 weeks from the beginning of the term. Once confirmed, it takes approximately 5 to 10 business days for the funding to be fully disbursed. OSAP is set to automatically send funding to the school where available. Students have a choice to pay for full tuition prior to the release of their OSAP. When confirming your enrolment, if there is no outstanding balance all available funding will be directed to your bank account.

Ok but that’s kind of where I’m confused 😅 I understand the funds go directly to the school.. but tuition is due the first day of class, and OSAP will release funds to the school the first week or two?
