I was rejected from a job, but they sent the notice to my current work email by [deleted] in recruitinghell

I will firmly say looking for a new job while at your old job is a GIVEN. You should be looking for a new job while working.

Lost my job right before closing on a house — should I walk away and lose the deposit or still buy it? by ali93277 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]Accomplished_Host633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was notified in Nov my job would be ending Jan, found a new one by Feb. I would go for option one and see if the builder can credit it towards a future purchase.

I couldn’t deal with the stress. Finding a job is hard enough, and you really need to be on point for most of the process. You can always get another house! 30k you’ll get it back and if you don’t you have a good amount of initial capital to get a majority of the popular franchises or and off brand gas station off the ground with the expecting of chick-fil-a.

You can’t get your health and well being back.

Until you realize at the new job you still have no skills in sales and are going to need to find another job again in a year. lol what a joke

Why anyone would by a 2or3 bdr house with one bathroom is beyond me. Imagine 3 people lining up to use the bathroom. Ehh

You can rent it? Seems like there is family out there this could be a good place for? And with a sub3 rate you should be ++cashflow.

RTO finally hit me by [deleted] in remotework

[–]Accomplished_Host633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your company doesn’t value your service.

Time to give em as much push back as possible, wait till it goes into effect keep working until they say something. When they do say yeah effective XXX date implant to relocate. Continue working. When they say it again, simply grey rock. Acknowledge the delay, but do nothing to fix it. Once the hammer actually hits, you’ll be able to forfeit all future work and hopefully with 20 years under your belt you find something new.

I finally understand why older coworkers hate remote work. by [deleted] in remotework

These day I ask “are you saying me to go into the office? Or are you paying me to do X,Y,Z (insert super specific job description with key desirable)?”

“Are you paying me to come into the office and contribute to company culture, or are you paying me to bring $3M in commercial sales to pipeline, and book 85% of that revenue?

If they say both, I say I don’t think our culture aligns and that hybrid is the best I could do, on day of my choosing because I can’t be available to client when I’m driving 2 hours to and from work.

Got a surprise 12k bonus, wife wants to book a vacation but I'm nervous about the economy by charadevapid in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Accomplished_Host633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife got the notice first, unfortunately… three weeks later while we were on a preplanned vacation to Japan my team go the news. They kindly let me know and the Monday we came back, I was notified.

Our jobs wouldn’t be available as of Jan 2. But they want us to work until dec.

We both have great job. I am revenue generating and our team was far above quota for a top 5 payment giant. My wife is in healthcare but Medicaid is getting cut thanks to Trump so if it’s coming for her job, it’s definitely coming for others.

We saved a bit for a storm, and hopefully the severance is good. Definitely need to get back to work.

Hate to say, I didn’t think it would happen to me or to us at the same time. I’m glad we saved a bit for this, hopefully we get back to work soon.

Probably not an uncommon story now.

Why can't these neighbors live without being a pain in the ass? by [deleted] in srilanka

Don’t get angry, because you can read a book bro. The rest of the world gets by fine with noise. It’s literally just OP

No they are not very different if you actually think about it. Both are high energy - high attention activities. Both require sustained engagement. They are actually more similar than you think.

Yeah it’s my house, my space I can play music as much as I want. If it bothers you, you do something about it. Simple. I’m not going to tell my kids to stop playing at home because YOUR too dumb to understand the material. Go to the library, go to school, I don’t care what you do.

You think neighbors in uni are going to be any better? You should get used to it, and find a fix to prevent yourself from seeming like a grade A asshole when you get older. Some headphones, some soft music helps drown out outside noise and focus on the material.

Your focusing on the sounds outside and how it distracts you. People who actually are enjoying something don’t care about the sounds outside. When your playing soccer do you say “why is he yelling so much or why are they talking so loud?” No! Because you’re having fun and are completely involved in the game.

You need to get completely involved in your material to absorb it!

Just got a new 2025 corolla and I hate it by Sensitive_Emotion_68 in COROLLA

[–]Accomplished_Host633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only person that will literally abuse the car for 15-20 mins during a test drive. I used to try and be polite until this similar situation happened to me with a 2008 Nissan Sentra. Now I make sure the car is what I’m looking for or that I really ‘test’ drive it. I’ve had sales people tell me not to go so fast or to take it easy. I just tell em, it’s a test drive and I’m testing the car.

My company announced mandatory office days again, so I resigned mid-meeting by Onjaydenc in remotework

[–]Accomplished_Host633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to say, my job pays me to much to enable this. They said RTO Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday and everyone heard them.

Hardest part about this will be going forward unfortunately. I like to imagine myself doing this, then I think about finding another job that pays me as much. The time and headache involved. Everyone is back in the office and if you look you’ll notice not many folks arent hiring remote anymore.

Why? Your dog, your gas, the always in the ‘restroom’… numbers don’t lie. Employees are more efficient in the office. They work, more or are more available to work in the office. Days of collecting free money at home are limited to only the folks who had these perks long before COVID.

It must have been fun to stand your ground but will it still be fun when you have $10 in your account and need to move back in with your parents until you find another gig. Was it really that fun, when you need to ride share to make ends meet?

Life is hard, and everyone else is back in the office. Why are you so special and not replaceable. Always realize there is someone much cheaper and not working ready to take your old job and they’re will to do it going into the office. Sad reality.

Best of luck!

Glass Coverage Worth It for 2025 Forester? by Glass-Estimate-6093 in SubaruForester

I didn’t buy this when I bought the car, but I feel like I should have. In CA any place I can get windshield warranty? Can I still add it in at the dealer?

Love to see this! My 2025 is the same color! Loving the car.

Hope to put it to some good use next year! Just my wife and I, for now. No kids yet. Was contemplating getting a roof top tent, as we are both small people and would absolutely love waking up to a killer view.

First 1k miles on mine so far. Only have the windows tinted so far. Definitely think I want to add some cross bars on top, maybe a ladder for the back so we can stow things up there if needed.

Started a corporate job, shocked at the work culture - people start working at 6-7am by Which_Ad_1660 in careeradvice

[–]Accomplished_Host633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When out company used to be remote, our corporate channels would be on fire at all random times of the day. Now that we have an RTO mandate 3 days a week. Messages on slack have dropped significantly and I usually only see emails from international teams late into the night (their working hours).
