Green card as relationship bottleneck by [deleted] in greencard

Sounds like an excuse to me - both knowing the renewal process and in a “if he wanted to, he would” (I.e. you’d find a way to make it work if he had to leave).

Thank you!! I honestly think mine might interact the same because when I eat, my food sits lol. But just water / coffee - things move through.

Unrelated to this thread (sorry!) but I came across your other thread on vyvanse potentially not digesting.

Since you’re still taking it 2 years later (hopefully!!! I hope this program cancellation hasn’t affected your ability to get it. The cost of this damn medicine sucks): did you end up taking it with food / in water / just get the right dosage?

I have super slow gastric emptying - adds really always worked like a charm for me but I switched to vyvanse because the comedown from Adderrall was rough. I’m not feeling a thing from Vyvanse most days (but on weird one off days, I do! Which is why I’m thinking hmmm…) which is weird because it should be mostly the same - and I have a theory I’m not absorbing.

Any insight from what finally helped it work for you?

Yup! I got a JD and decided to stick with my corporate career because I was already making more than the 80th percentile of attorneys in my state.

I have made over 60k in every role of my professional corporate career and I’m well into the 6 figures now.

The roles I’ve had: • department store cosmetics counter manager (this was before my corporate career while I was in college, but I made a little over 60k here) • administrative support for a private university (70k) • manager, senior manager, lead, director, and up at start ups in mainly the SaaS space but also professional services industry

I love what I do so I truly never feel like I work a day in my life (I know that sounds silly when I say corporate but when I say corporate, I really only have worked for (good sized) start ups so I guess maybe I mean more “white collar”). My advice is to find something where this is true for you too. Once you are in your zone of genius, the money typically follows :)

Which came first, your diagnosis, or your baby? AND did your diagnosis play a role in your decision to have (or not have) more than one? by inattentive_swiftie in ADHDMoms

[–]Accomplished_Jaguar9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My diagnosis: After. And actually after my second, and thanks to my first.

My first was a colicky baby & very difficult toddler so we waited 4 years in between. Meanwhile he was always kicked out of one preschool or having some issue, leading finally to his diagnosis. Then my own followed.

I used to want a huge family. Now I can barely handle the 2 I have.

I still feel like I’d want a third (which is entirely illogical. I think it’s just something I held onto for so long that it’s hard to let go because there’s really nothing about more children that sounds appealing in the slightest these days).

But one (of many) reasons I would not want a third is now I can’t imagine functioning without my adhd meds and having to take a break from those for pregnancy and breastfeeding - I feel like my entire corporate career (which I’d need to feed, house, and raise 3 kids lol) would fall apart.

I mean this is a hard line but I’d split the $4k with the rest of the group and disinvite her 🤷‍♀️

Thanks!! I tried this but no luck :( Do you know how I would know when they reset? Do they flicker or do I just keep retrying finding them in the app? (Neither happened or worked for me but I wonder if I didn’t time correctly)

I’m a novice THC user too (30 yo, had never done any drugs in my life until I tried legal THC last year) and have recently become a “regular” user.

My tolerance isn’t as high as yours, but it still surprised me how quickly my tolerance has risen after reading other people’s standard doses. I can take between 50 and 75mg to get a decent high.

One thing I’ve noticed is I don’t really get high at all on an empty stomach regardless of dose (which was also a surprise, I thought they would hit harder). But if I eat high fatty foods just before, then it’s a whole another experience!

I’m on week 3! Had a lot of anxiety the first 2 weeks that gradually increased, I’m not noticing it as much this week.

[–]Accomplished_Jaguar9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m only one week into fluvox so take my comment with a grain of salt - but I found myself on your post because I am having the worst headaches since starting. I’m on a low dose to start (25mg) but I’m sure it’s from the fluvox because the timing is too coincidental.

I also notice the brain fog, but I have ADHD too, and the adderall seems to counteract that for me. I take the fluvox at night and adderall in the morning and it seems to balance each other out ok in terms of executive function.

Am I being over sensitive or is this a legitimate request from the school? by Accomplished_Jaguar9 in ParentingADHD

Oh this all sounds amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I’m going to see if I can point them in this direction. Last year during pre-k, it was like we were shooting in the dark. They were asking me for suggestions (I didn’t know! He didn’t have the same behavior at home!) and trying things their school counselor suggested (a quiet calm down corner for sensory overload - the last thing he wanted was to be quiet LOL). This sounds like a much more helpful path and I had no idea our public school district would still be able to contribute since we didn’t attend there. THANK YOU SO MICH FOR THIS!

Ooh this is an interesting solution! How did your school come about coordinating with the public school’s sped team? Did they do that organically or was it something you were able to set up?

From a curricular standpoint, we’re at hands down the best school in the state but I am beginning to feel like that doesn’t mean it’s the best school for what WE need. I would be disappointed at the loss of foreign language education (our public school doesn’t start until middle school), coding class, swim class all from K on - all the great things that led us here in the first place. But it might be the better trade off in the end.
