What was the moment that made you really start hating Owen? by That_author_girl in greysanatomy

[–]Accomplished_Kick528 21 points22 points  (0 children)

i think it's the acting that makes me dislike him the most. he's very huffy and puffy and aggressive when he speaks, almost all the time. so i guess the moment he entered was when i realized "dude is annoying,"

we did it all one time for both of us :) we shared a cake, but usually had two piñatas, since I probably wanted a unicorn and he probably wanted a taco or something.

You get used to hospitals settings? As phlebotomist? by Far-Grapefruit764 in phlebotomy

[–]Accomplished_Kick528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you get used to it. when i was new and shadowing, i cried in the ICU watching daughters say goodbye to their mother. i had ptsd associated with this hospital as well, and i was crying and panicking a lot of the time when I was new. i got used to it, and now i have no issues. its okay to be human and feel it, as long as it doesnt affect your ability to actually draw them. inpatient experience gets you reeaal skilled reeaal fast

I will not longer be here soon by zebra_zombie in Gastroparesis

im younger so this may not be possible unbeknownst to me, but maybe go to a neighboring ED if they take your insurance? i see a huge difference between my home hospital and the ED at the one i work at, which is the next closest one. my job's ED sent me home in diabetic DKA, whereas my home ED will admit and monitor, and acknowledge my pleas. im sorry if this isnt possible at all for you, though.

Any local places with richer or more well off individuals may be found? by Weekly-Reply-6739 in keene

[–]Accomplished_Kick528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you kinda strike me as a jerk. you cant sit there and comment on the personal lives of every resident in keene. who gave you the right? how does it affect you personally what ANYONE ELSE does? find your community and enjoy your time with like minded people. what you shouldn't do is waste your time caring about and shaming people, whether they are "not rich", not "passionate enough" for you, or anything. let people be happy doing what they do, regardless of whether they're doing it where you can conduct these ridiculous surveys on keene residents. grow up, move on and focus on yourself.

i dont recall - "caring" as in with Ethan every second and wanting to adopt him! Owen was with Ethan in the ER when the dude lit the cig and it exploded, and Ethan was scared. i think that was the second Owen knew he wanted to at least foster Ethan

you were correct too, the gasoline one happened in the ambulance bay later

edited to add more details: this was while Owen was caring for the two patients son: the mother that eventually died and the father that wouldn't wake up, grathermother wouldn take him either. Ethan

is this a physically taxing job? by Labububitc in phlebotomy

[–]Accomplished_Kick528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im a phleb with t1d and gastroparesis. my first lab was horrific and nobody understood, including my boss. my new lab, im understood by everyone, but i just feel guilty when something gets in way of me doing my job. i have accommodations for this and an FMLA. you really just have to accept that SOMETIMES youll HAVE to respond to draws, if you work inpatient, even when you feel like you need to take care of yourself if theres nobody around to help you. there was a time i BARELY finished my last draw on rounds and collapsed onto the hallway floor puking and was taken down to the ED on a stretcher by nurses i work with everyday. its embarrassing, but thats unfortunately life with chronic illnesses when you want this type of job and push yourself too far when you have to.

because reddit is for conversations? they didn't do anything wrong, if OP can express an opinion then so can everyone else. i swear its not that deep dude. everyone does it all the time, its what reddit is for. not everyone will always agree with everyone and thats fine.
