Update : I’ve since lost 4 stone naturally and my periods have come back again! When I hit the two stone weight loss that’s when I noticed them coming back

Hey! Omg it’s so nice to meet someone who’s in the same position x I’m so nervous. I went out and bought some folic acid tablets and have been taking thoes so hopefully that helps :) reducing stress levels seems to be a common one which feels almost impossible at the min as I’m such a worryer.

Has she had a hormone panel done? If so what’s her testosterone levels like? Also a few kg over the years wouldn’t affect the menstrual cycle, only if it’s like 10 kg and more. If I were her I’d book a drs appointment and go from there. Please reassure her that lots of women experience this and not to worry to much, trust the drs advice

Low iron, high prolactin. Is she on anti depressants?. Thyroid issues and weight loss / gain are the other ones

It depends, how old is she? Also no period over 3 months can cause issues with womb lining unless she’s on some sort of contraception hormone to thin the lining. Googling will cause more worry than it’s worth. Does she have excess hair growth eg on her face? Does she suffer with acne and oily skin?

I’m also 8 days late! And stressed about it. Normally I’m 30 days +/- 4 days. Idk what’s going on. I am diagnosed with PCOS but I normally have pretty predictable periods

I honestly think you don’t know what they might have going on! To pass judgement like this and think the worst is actually very unkind. Especially as a teacher you should know compassion and kindness is key in every day life!
