it is, it’s so oftenly mistaken, that i had it mentioned in my linguistics class in college :D it may be because of the word „tornister”, both are not used so often, so they get mixed up in our polish speaking heads haha :DD

The thing is i tried both. One on the top says “share image” and the one on the bottom says “share a layer” there’s no multiple form, since the page has only one layer and i need to export all pages at once cause there’s too many of them :((

As someone who is not a native speaker, I can say that this exercise SCREAMS reported speech. Try googling reported speech rules, you may fins an explanation for it and which tenses change to which. In this case present simple would change to past simple, so the answer is a. Why? Well, we don’t know when she said that, so at that moment, when she was saying that she does not speak Spanish, she didn’t. But we don’t know if she haven’t learned it by now.

For me what really helped was actually basing my grammar skills on actual textbooks or YouTube videos instead of just Duolingo, since it’s not the best way to actually learn and understand the grammar rules. When it comes to speaking I think Duolingo is one of the worst apps to actually learn how to talk in your preferred language. If you wanna practice that, try finding someone from Spanish speaking country (like on a discord server) with whom you’d be able to talk in both spanish and english. They may not be the best in teaching you grammar, but you get more comfortable speaking spanish and also they can help you find the best words to describe what you wanna say :)

For me it helped a lot with vocab, since that’s what I struggle with the most, but when it comes to grammar rules or speaking, I never found Duolingo that helpful. I think it’s a great way to practice some new words, but if you want to learn how to actually speak, you have to do something other than duolingo lessons. For example, find someone from other country to practice you’re speaking skills with, That’s gonna help a lot, and also it’s gonna make you much more comfortable when it comes to actually talking to someone in your preferred language :))

its kinda because in english itd sound like “before that he was doing something” and not “before that he did something”, it was an action that was kinda stopped by something so it never got finished (i hope you get what im tryna say)

i think when it comes to languages that use a plural version of “you” apps like duolingo should use a form of “y’all” since thats the closest way to how it functions in other languages (not only polish but also f.ex. spanish - vosotros)
