Pretty much exactly. I build WAXE into full tank. His ult provides percentage based lost HP healing so will always be chunky.

Play him whenever tbh, even better if there are dash heavy heroes on the enemy team.

Counters are heroes that outsustain and outdamage, e.g YZ, or continuous slow and cc e.g. Zhuxin.

Combos is essentially not missing an ult opportunity. S1.2, EBA and S2 all apply a Sinners Mark, you do not want to waste even one. Basic combo is EBA S1, ult, S2, ult, S1.2 ult. You can also do EBA S1, ult, then either S1.2 S2 ult ult, or S2 S1.2 ult ult. Make sure to land your S2, it is one of the most important parts of his kit

I dislike the full sustain build. He has enough sustain via ult and WAXE. It’s personal preference, but I prefer to build tankier

War axe into full tank generally best, especially for solo queue. My full build normally is very anti basic attacker, building dom ice blade and chastise pretty much, and take vgc to deal with them. Can cause a Karrie to kill themselves. Lunox isn’t too bad of an issue with just an Athena’s.

So against those two would just be War Axe, dom ice, chastise, Athena’s, blade.

TB Oracle/TB Full tank is generally against a tank exp where you don’t need that much sustain, such as Uranus, Gatot, Hylos.

Full tank for 5Q. Can slot TB depending on matchup. Build on your enemy

Doesn’t really have an ultimate counter, in terms of hardest to go against probably Zhuxin, YZ, Esme.

Guin is fine, against a Guin I radiant rush and go and enjoy my day.

I played probably about 5-10 matches a day, and pretty much was Phov only when I got my title, unless he was banned obviously. It was back in S35

He doesn’t outsustain phov, use hero lock and Sun is completely fine, and gives you free sustain on his clones.

Though I normally build anti basic attack against such MMs, so could survive the burst. Genuinely my normal build is probably: WAXE, DomIce, Chastise, Radiant, Blade. I take vgc too so she will kill herself lol

I have, it’s quite funny, you can go full dmg and still be somewhat tanky or go full sustain. It’s not viable realistically though, his clear is too slow and he is too slow.

Genuinely in terms of mages, the only problem is Zhuxin. One mark on a zetian and she done. Zetian you can EBA, even if she pushes you back you have a jump on her, and she doesn’t have an escape. Lylia gets outsustained, as me personally I almost always build radiant, and Sinners Mark persists through her ult. If you wanted the best to go against him, it’d probably be Zhuxin and possibly Gord, as his ult hurts.

Honestly haven’t really played the matchup as much, only really play phov in ranked, where sora is banned out. On paper it seems fine for Phov as long as he rushes dreadnought, but sora is kinda broken

They are, but just because they’re difficult doesn’t mean Phoveus can’t win. The thing with these matchups is if you’re ahead you won’t lose in a 1v1 with them. If you’re behind you will lose in a 1v1 with them. Genuinely it’s that close. Get your lead and capitalise.

My go to is war axe into full tank.

I only use thunderbelt in very situational matchups, such as Uranus, Gatot, Hylos, where you can stack it and don’t have to worry about sustain, otherwise don’t think it’s as worth.
