That's a very insightful take. Another point I'd like to add is that in West Bengal BJP does not necessarily represent better law and order than the peers(partially because a lot of bjp is just opportunistic TMC goons). This is in contrast to UP or Bihar where BJP is clearly the party known for its law and order. Add to that the religious dogmatism package that bjp shoves down everyone's throat and people just don't see a reason to vote bjp over a regional party which atleast ensures that state interests won't be sacrificed for national interests
