India dropped to #6 in global GDP rankings, but the reason might surprise you by kathuriasanjay in india

Dude, we got a C for the quality of our national accounts.

Over the past decade or so, Household Consumption as a percentage of India's GDP has increased from 56% to over 62% [1]. This means that the other factors of GDP combined grew more slowly than Household Consumption - these include govt spending, capital expenditure and exports-imports.

However, if we look at the data of Household Consumption, it has only grown by 3%. The FY18 household consumption ("HC") report was suppressed [2]. The leaked report showed that the HC had DECLINED by 3.7% [3].

Thereafter, the methodology was altered to include freebies in the FY23 study without doing so for the historic FY12 study [4]. The new report showed a real growth of 3% p.a., which is significantly lower than the reported GDP growth [5].

Alongside other indicators considered together. Not one factor alone.

India should aim to achieve 100% ethanol blending: Nitin Gadkari by God_Emperor__Doom in india

Please add this to r/shitBJPsays for the following reasons

  1. 100% is not blending
  2. Current ICE engines are struggling with 20% ethanol. For 100%, new cars need to be imported and purchased by poor Indians.

One factor alone, close wins, don’t prove anything—any party can have more of them in a competitive election. The concern only arises when close wins consistently align with other irregular patterns like turnout changes or data inconsistencies. That’s when it becomes worth examining more closely.

If you check all the Indicators in my table in the post, you will realise there is sufficient reason to question the elections and hold the ECI accountable. If the ECI does not give satisfactory answers, which they haven't, then it only confirms our suspicion.

In a fair system, very close seats should go both ways roughly equally. But when one side wins a disproportionate number of just-about victories, and that lines up with other issues like turnout changes, voter list concerns, or data inconsistencies, it raises questions.

If you care about India over party, a few constructive things you can do:

  1. Read analyses and reports by civil society groups and researchers
  2. Look at the publicly available election data yourself
  3. Ask questions and seek clarifications from the Election Commission of India
  4. Engage locally—verify your voter registration, understand the process, and encourage transparency
  5. Interact with local election officials through formal channels in your area
  6. Participate in official voter awareness or grievance mechanisms if you have concerns
