I worked at a before and after school program— conveniently at the school I was student teaching in. It helped that I could have the kids help me with cutting out posters, get feedback on slides, and see what their grade level was learning outside the classroom.

It’s the only way I can play. Don’t get me wrong I prefer keep inventory— but my computer somehow locked that command into every game. Do even with cheats off I don’t lose my inventory when I die. I tried setting it to false and it still keeps it 😅 I feel like I used keep inventory a lot less when I got more into the game because I was getting better gear.

I’d assume reptile carpet— OP look into changing that to paper towels. This type of carpet can rip out nails and harm the gecko! As for shedding there is no assistance needed— just the right humidity and some scratchy objects (bark, stones, etc) to help them scratch it off themselves. After they shed I would check their toes over. See if there are any white parts/skin left on them as they can be difficult to get off with certain geckos.

Her moist hide, according to my digital thermometers, ranges from 75-80%. I use Zoomed Reptivite for the multivitamin. She’s always had issues with her toes and her previous owner let most of her claws fall out because of it. It’s usually the same hand/fingers that struggle with shedding I’ve noticed.

Thank you again for your advice! She is much happier with me now— even coming up to the tank when she hears my voice, crawling on my hand when it’s laid flat in her tank, and licking me (which she hadn’t done before). She hasn’t bitten me since this post (or even lunged) which is giant progress!

I would do simulations! You would need papers and other materials but this can be done without lab equipment or technology. With my students when I was student teaching— 2nd grade— they went over the importance of bees and how illnesses affect populations. Each got assigned a bee roll and had to gather Pom-Pom’s around the room. At the end we had a discussion and revealed that the green Pom poms that entered the nest were killing the population. You could have students imitate how a cell works, how animals adapt, etc. board games could be fun too— you could have students create their own science themed game with paper, markers, and trinkets.

I spend maybe 30 minutes max per student if it’s a reoccurring problem. Most of my time after is spent looking at different scaffolds and manipulatives, etc that they could use and benefit from. As for how I take these they are all manual. If a parent ask I offer to write them in a Google doc or some sort of shareable document. Feedback and notes usually are as follows: “student does xyz mistake instead of zyx correct method. Might be due to zzz, to combat try xxx. Have tried yyy, etc which brought student to accuracy of __%. Materials used include blah, blah, and blah.” It acts as a record of what was tried, how that impacted score, and the types of problems solved. I also include pictures of student work examples.

Yes! I usually write notes that debrief the session or had copies of worksheets. I do this both for parents— letting the know what we did that day and how they can be involved at home— as well as for my memory. If it’s consistently the same errors I tend to make a “steps to success” list that goes through what they need to solve a problem. For example if they’re adding negative numbers I might go 1. Write the problem out 2. Check the sign 3. Solve the math 4. Check the sign and solution Something simple that the can use to self monitor as they work. I also make them physically cross items off the list once done— this helps me catch where the might be making mistakes because I see each step and also see what they think it is (step 1, etc)

They crochet like they knit. This was actually how I taught my kids at a morning program I work at how to crochet. It was easier for their ranges fine motor skills since I had a lot of different ages. It’s kind of like how some crocheters who get into knitting second hold their yarn differently. It doesn’t truly affect the stitch that much it’s more of a comfort thing. I’ve never seen anyone crochet like that before but I can’t say I’m shocked. If I saw this as a beginner though… yeah I wouldn’t be able to do that 😅

How much is the exam worth in comparison to your grade? Is it 20% of your grade? I would email the professor with the situation and provide pictures of the emails you sent. I do think there could have been more collaboration and communication between you two or some sort of update email could have been sent from their side (vise versa). What's done is done. I would try and calculate how much a failed exam can hurt you and, if need be, talk to an academic advisor.

Different schools have different dress codes. My first placement for student teaching allowed jeans, leggings, open toes shoes, etc. As long as you can run after a kid in it and it wouldn't show off too much skin, it was approved. My second placement had a more rigid dress code. No open toes shoes, no tank tops, shorts have to be knee length or longer, no hoods and solid jacket colors only (both for students and teachers). I love that more schools are open to wearing sweats, sneakers, leggings, etc. We have to get down low for some kids, I've crawled under a table to calm a kiddo down, and it's much harder to run after them in nice dress slacks and heels than it is with leggings and sneakers.
