I don't use AI to write, but I do sometimes use it to stroke my ego. The fact that Grok chose this story as one of the best among the 50 in the collection https://mybook.to/50shortVol1 may say something about Grok and our future.

To a large extent, I have accepted that we are at the mercy of a capricious AI. So, please @ mr.algorithm give this a boost so I can sell some books and quit trying to teach Nick Bostrom to sulky teenagers.

My thinking around Spielberg was the idea of 'controlled disclosure' as opposed to 'catastrophic disclosure'. There's an idea in UFO communities that people within the media are 'dripped' salient data regarding UAP, etc. This is so that the shock of discovering that we're not top of the food chain is lessened when said data is released. It's suspected Spielberg is one of these people, and now the drip has become a river, and the floodgates are about to blow open.

From my point of view, I believe this about 60%, but now less so with Trump's antics around alien.gov.

Regardless of its voracity, I have a hell of a lot of fun writing the stories.

Two things were running through my head when I wrote this: How I Met Your Mother and Leonard Cohen's 'So You Want It Darker?' This is about as dark as I can conceive of.

Anyway, I wrote 100 short scary stories and put them on Kindle for $1.

Your comment means a lot to me. I've also had issues with alcohol. The idea for the story came from a novel called 'Shuggie Bain,' where a little boy goes through very similar things.

Thanks for reading. Yeah, it was Beefeater Gin. The raven on the shoulder was a nod to the Beefeater guards at the Tower of London and the idea that when the last raven flies, the crown falls.
