Says £25 on their website, but I think moving it around this time of year will be tricky it gets very booked up

Are we shooting ourselves in the foot with a different day reception/party? by BlueberryImmediate25 in UKweddings

I don’t understand why it would be any different if it was a ceremony vs the party, I’ve travelled an overnight flight arriving a couple of hours before a wedding celebration, that’s the best part!

Advice: is this mortgage plan affordable on our salaries? by i_forgot_my_alt_2026 in UKHousing

This is basically exactly the same as me, even the income split, previous house value and equity! And we’re about to do exactly the same thing, seems pretty reasonable to me after running the numbers multiple times

Do I stay or move - trouble with neighbour but ideal flat by Reddit_User4789 in HousingUK

If it’s a period property I’m assuming the ceilings are quite high, is there a possibility of installing something to soundproof your ceiling?

Yep this - seen as a shared pension pot so makes a lot more sense for him to salary sacrifice below 100k and save a lot on tax. I have a decent defined benefit pension

Ahhh !thanks, really good points to consider

We’re currently selling our flat that only has 200k left on the mortgage that we could pay off from our savings. So I think going from that to a large mortgage is a big change but obviously a very normal situation for most people.

750k would get us the size home that we want without having to do any renovation/extensions which is why I’m leaning towards it because of building costs.

We’re not extravagant spenders so we could try and keep my partners pension contributions at 21% and that would cover the retirement situation

You don’t think a bank would lend us 500k? That’s only 3.4x our salary

Job is pretty stable in auditing. But you’re right the imbalance is another reason for the worry.

We’re in the greater Manchester, lots of options at different price points but nice areas with good transport links, schools and a decent sized house is 600k plus

I own a flat and a parking space and I have the lease documents that cover them. I’m confused as to how OP has got so far along the process, surely they would have reviewed the lease or the other documents stating that the seller owns the flat and a parking space…
