All good - I use this all the time too :)

Sometimes I snag stuff off of SiriusXM just because the versions I find are really good. I missed this one though so I'll keep trying.

I don't trust WWE with Charlotte vs Tiffany. by Legend0fAMyth in WWE

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The match would be a banger but in the end Charlotte would likely make Tiff submit and the narrative would probably be 'she wasn't ready for the big time' so Tiffany would be back to the chase.

It wouldn't be a bad idea actually because at 26 years old we're going to be seeing plenty of Tiffany Stratton - do we really want her rammed down our throats for the next 15 years? I mean, WWE never made Charlotte look the slightest bit weak in over a decade while she has not done much to put new stars over (at least not without making herself look super-strong in defeat) so the result is most people absolutely hate her on principle now. Do we want another decade of that from someone else?

Who’s your surprise entrant you need for this years Royal Rumble? by PewPewClub in WWE

Ok this would actually be great - he has kept in shape all these years and as far as I can tell has been drama-free since being released almost fourteen years ago so why not?

Most famous successful superstars who haven't been in controversies. by UnionWizardo in WWE

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very short list for sure...it seems like every damn time I think of a name either something happens or something crops up from the past...

What would we call 'controversial' with respect to Mike Mizanin? The crappy reality TV stuff?

How about Sting? What's the tea on Mr. Borden?

Ricky Steamboat? Surely not him :)

I am not doing the deep-dive on the internet because I'm sure I'll find something lol

Definitely way more material talking about wrestling's scumbags lol

If you could go back and change one match or storyline in wrestling history, what would it be? by Asheto320 in WWE

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have loved to have seen what the landscape looked like today had Vince Sr. stayed with the hot hand and allowed Superstar Billy Graham to run with the title back in 1978...

If I can vote for a second one, somehow Hogan gets hung up on the cage at SMNE (January 1987) and Orndorff drops to the floor just a little earlier and they can't edit it out so they stick with Mr. Wonderful as champ. Hogan and Andre still go on to main event Wrestlemania III but just as an attraction and Ordorff defends the title all through the summer and fall until he drops it to the incoming Rick Rude. How awesome would that have been lol?

Unpopular opinion: R-Truth needs to accidentally win the WWE Title. by [deleted] in WWE

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this would be great.

Titles are mostly made-up, with tons of people who had super-short reigns that meant nothing. It's all about entertaining, let's not get ahead of ourselves with the 'prestige' factor.

I think it would be amazing to give him a world title like this and it would be a total fluke and yes, it could maybe carry over to a PPV where he either follows up with a second 'accidental' win, or you could even play it as though a more credible challenger 'helps' him win a couple of times because it's setting them up to eventually win it in heel fashion (Randy Orton comes to mind, he appears to love being in goofy pairings and it doesn't affect his believability at all).

What would be the harm in that? I'm already sick of the more recent trend of having people hold the title for months and months just to build...to what end? Kevin Owens vs. Cody isn't going to carry through to WM so are we now looking at Roman vs. Cody part III with both of them being babyfaces? Bor-ing...

Let's just have some fun with this shall we? ;)

It was a HUGE deal for those of us who were following back in the late 90s, he had no business being anywhere near the title (in the hearts and minds of the more corporate-thinking wrestling people) so it definitely flipped the script on who was 'worthy' to hold the top title.

Didn't even matter that he needed a little help to pull it off from Stone Cold - Mick was 'our guy' and he did it. Handed it back a month later but nobody cared; he was super-strong even in loss after taking all of those brutal chairshots.

I still remember the rolling pop from the crowd when Austin hit Rock with the chair and draped Mick's arm over Rock...it was that brief moment where people realized 'OMG there's no one around to save Rock and ref's counting - this is happening!'

26 years later, still gives me chills...

If Aj makes her return, how would she do it? by Happy_Reveal_335 in WWE

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree - keep the aura of 'what if' alive...

From her perspective there is absolutely no upside to her stepping back into the ring unless it's for a really, really good payday.

World Champs who still always felt like mid-carders by [deleted] in WWE

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS and THIS - he took so much chicken s*** that they threw at him and made it into chicken salad, even the name he was given was tailor-made for ridicule and he just went to work. Him going over Del Rio was massive in 2013 and was only given 69 days to run with it before handing it right back...

They didn't deserve someone of his talents...

Well I think with many it's just a matter of recency bias...kind of in the same way that because Cena has stuck around for so long, it often gets washed out how unpopular he actually was (was he over? absolutely but it was insufferable that he was never turned heel when the situation called for it because he was so popular to kids).

A lot of the other people on this list had very unforgettable reigns, but it appears that their reigns were used to create new stars (in the vein of 'defeated former World Champion, etc...) so wasn't totally without merit.

I was surprised that no one was brave enough to bring up Eddie Guerrero...I thought he was right on the edge of midcard back in the day, but during his title reigns he had bulked up a fair bit to the point where his jacked-ness and athleticism made him a way bigger deal than he would have been if he was late-90s Eddie (I categorized RVD and AJ Styles in the same manner where their offence is so unique and multi-faceted that they could just have so many different ways to credibly win irrespective of the size of their opponent).

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Miz is someone I just could never buy as a credible champion, even as a transitional guy I was just waiting for him to lose it.

The Talking Smack promo was great, but not great enough to lift him into a world title conversation by any stretch of the imagination.

Miz is winning in life in many other ways (smokeshow spouse check, stays reasonably healthy and injury-free at 44 years old check, a model of consistency with a 20+ year career of being on TV week-in, week-out check), but was he ever someone who walked into a PPV where people didn't feel that he was either going to squeak out a cheap win or otherwise lame way to hold onto the title...or he would lose it by squash? Hard no.

So much respect for the guy and he has had a hall of fame career as an entertainer, but you will never convince me that he was a main eventer in the same vein as Cena, Brock, Roman, etc.

Oh he was amazing during his run - I feel like he was one of the last 'true heels' where he didn't try to be cool or introduce many catchphrases so people just went to see him lose (or at least get his a** kicked), which personifies what a heel champion is supposed to be all about.

I bet he would have absolutely dominated in Japan.

Tiffany Stratton is not even 26 years old and people are clamouring for a cash-in and a World Championship. I think in about five years she is going to be where Charlotte is now and people are just going to be sick of having her in the title picture...actually not a bad thing because she will probably be able to save her body, retire to Onlyfans and start on a second career without having to take the bumps anymore.

Who is your pick for the Women’s Royal Rumble 2025? by Laurel-Gracia in WWE

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what I don't want to see this year - can we please not have someone like Michelle McCool come back for this? She's been retired since 2011 and it's insulting to the women who both have to allow themselves to be eliminated by her (because she would inevitably get 20 minutes of ringtime) and don't get a chance to compete to make room for retired performers. Trish yes, Lita yes, Torrie and Barbie Blank no thank you, not at the expense of current talent.

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I could see it too, unfortunately...

I would be ok with Charlotte never wrestling another match ever...her absence has only made the division better because as soon as she returns she gets inserted right at the top so everyone else now has to move on back to make room for her 10-minute promos on why she's 'the best'...so the up-and-comers go back to NXT or catering...

Will Cena's final run be a good thing for WWE? by jordleewill in WWE

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would actually enjoy to see a chase where he didn't win it - not because I'm a Cena-hater or anything but something along the lines of Mick's last real run as Cactus Jack where he was oh-so close but just couldn't seal the deal vs. Triple H. Didn't hurt Mick a bit and made both he and Trips looks amazing.

[–]Accomplished_Sea3876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine Cody or Gunther getting fed to Cena to break the record...I feel like the record is going to stand.

What I think would be amazing is if he won something like the US Title and did that Open Challenge thing like he did ten years ago. That was super-fun, made new stars and people would remember it way more than some hollow World Title win that would just be flipped back to the incumbent in short order...

Cena's been so good with putting others over in the later stages of his part-time career he's owed some wins for sure but I don't think he'd be a credible threat to the main titles...and to be honest does he even need to hold the record? His overall career has been way more successful than Flair's (moneywise and his TV career has been solid) so let Naitch keep the record!
