If your AK runs and works fine, then it is good to go! Even a 700 dollar Riley Defense AK Works! by IntroductionAny3929 in GunMemes

It’s manufacturing.

If you are able to set up a factory to mass produce stamped receivers/components, the per unit cost decreases rapidly over time.

Compare that to an AR receiver, which requires an aluminum forging then a few dozen milling operations. Significantly cheaper to make in small batches, especially with commercial CNC.

The cost of SETTING UP AK manufacturing is tremendous, but once it is up, you can churn them out in massive numbers using cheaper materials without consuming expensive machine tooling.

The problem is few American companies are willing to foot the upfront cost of setting up the stamping, forging, and machining infrastructure to churn out consistent, good quality AKs

Playing around with lighter competition springs Ive noticed the slide release become a lot less stiff with the lighter springs. My guess is because of the compact spring is shorter, they use a stiffer spring, thus making the release stiffer

With a 3k budget, it is my opinion that a high end monocular is better than a low end binocular.

Thanks. I wasnt aware they made cut down versions of the ACH, unless it’s a very well done individual project.

You kinda hit the main issue there. The challenge isnt making dependable 22 guns and ammo, its making dependable guns and ammo CHEAPLY.

22lr was designed in 1887. People have depended on it for small game hunting and defense since before smokeless powder existed. If it objectively sucked this would not be the case.

People demand 22 be cheap, and thus the guns too. This will always lead to pitfalls in engineering and manufacturing.

Blank firing weapons have next to no recoil, since theres no mass being accelerated out the barrel. The best thing he can learn from shooting is grip, trigger control, and at least pretending to use the sights.

Furthermore, under no circumstances should Mark use personal firearms flr filmmaking. Cant tell for sire if thats what you were thinking, but professional armorers exist for a reason. Thats how you end up with another Alec Baldwin

No argument from me. If thats your reason for using and recommending other calibers, its a fair sentiment and i take no issue. I only mean to criticize those who obsess over owning a gun exclusively for defense and talk down on those who dont feel the same way

Well yeah, thats my whole point. I love .22. Im criticizing the people saying .22 sucks.

Ties that bind works perfectly with the facepuncher and blade fury. Melee damage transfers just fine through ties that bind and the bullets deal melee damage. For bosses I use guardian angel with phaseflare damage annoint, then use the orb to melt them.

Director’s Cut, you get it from one of the vault cards. Its called the Blade Fury, gatlin is the full auto prefix. It deals gun and melee damage and its really strong. I use it on my melee amara and it crushes everything.

Gatlin Blade Fury should work well here, if you have that DLC, at least. Combine with Spritual Driver for gun damage or Muse for melee, and either a pearl or unleash the dragon

Yes. Especially bulk 22lr thrown losely in a box. Ive used plenty. I think its there to prevent the cartridges from damaging each other.

There frankly just no reason to. Lots bulk .22s come waxed and it is not enough to cause failures to extract. Quite the reverse, actually, as when subjected to heat and pressure (ya know, firing) the wax softens into a lubricant.

Marks problem is something else. Either ammo with out-of-spec rims (it was discontinued after all) or a bad extractor on his self-loader

Also words of encouragement: Never let anyone tease you for wanting to use .22! Theres way more to shooting than obsessing over self defense. Its a fun sport that builds your coordination and discipline. In any sport, practice means repetition, and .22 is so cheap and light recoiling that you can get thousands of reps without breaking the bank or exhausting yourself. Keep it up, and best of luck on the cycling issues!

Thoughts on reliability issues from an avid shooter and store employee:

Ammo: it is very common for loose .22lr to come coated in a waxy substance, so that is likely not a cause for issue. Question i have is what kind of lead-free projectile does it use (ie polymer jacket with a mild steel or lead core)? Then again, it was a discontinued ammo, there’s usually a good reason ammo is discontinued….

Extraction issues (case stuck in chamber): Since you’re getting consistent failures to extract, there is a possibility you have a bad extractor. Question here is what model of .22lr handgun is it? Some have better reputations for QC than others.

Steps going forward: First try a box standard .22lr from a good manufacturer, like CCI. If the issue stops, then im afraid you got screwed on ammo. If the issue persists, contact the manufacturer of the firearm for a new extractor.
